SELENA'S POV My fingers tightened around my phone before I could change my mind. For a few seconds I just stared at the screen, my heart beating harder than it should, like I already knew this call would change everything. Then I dialed his number. The line rang once, twice. On the third ring, he picked up, almost like he'd been expecting it. Silence filled the line, heavy and cold, the same way he always was. He didn't say hello, didn't ask who it was, just waited, like he already knew I would speak first. I swallowed. "I'm ready," I said. Two words. Just two. But the moment they left my mouth, it felt like something inside my life shifted. The line went dead. No reply, no confirmation, nothing. He just hung up. I stared at the phone for a few seconds before letting out a slow breath. So that's it. No going back now.
