ROWANMitch has finally unraveled the spell in the necklace I stole from Willow’s place. He’s even devised a way to undo it.This has got to be one of Mitch’s most impressive works.“It’s some sort of teleportation spell.” Mitch fondles the piece of jewelry, before he throws it to me. “Her aunt must have linked the Thompson chick’s blood to all that jewelry.”“So where does the teleportation chain lead to?”“Probably some safe house.” Mitch shrugs. “You mentioned a private island. Maybe that’s where. No worries though. I’ve undone the spell. Right now, the necklace is pretty much useless.”“All of them?”“Just this one.” He grimaces. “If you want to render the whole set useless, you have to bring it here.”“You very well know that I can’t do that.” I exhale a heavy breath, trying to think.“What about your new girlfriend?” Mitch smirks, wiggling his brows at me. “You could ask her to handle that chore for us. I’m sure she’ll be more than pleased to serve.”“Violet?” I roll my eyes. “T

AIDENIt feels good to be back in California.Scott loads my suitcase into the car. I get a call from an unknown number.“Hello?”“Hello, mr. Cross. This is Rick from the Lycan Hockey Federation.”Oh.About time they got back to me.Prague had been a distraction but now that I’m back, I could really use some updates.“Yes. I’m guessing you’re calling because you’ve got some news for me?”“Congratulations Mr Scott. The federation would like to welcome you back into the team. You’re free to resume training and participate in games. Oh, and forget about rehabilitation and community service. We reviewed your case file again and found you innocent of all charges.”***“Congratulations,” Willow pulls me in for another searing kiss. She kisses me so passionately, I groan and deepen the kiss. Willow is the first one to end it. She beams brightly. “ Oh baby. I’m so happy for you. You’re finally back on the team. I’m proud of you too. You handled it all like you said you would.”“I couldn’t hav

Willow“Babe. Slow down.” Aiden catches up with me. We are right outside the sorority house. “I don’t think you want to burst in there and cause a riot.”“What do you mean?” I snap, glowering at the tight grip he’s got on my wrist.Aiden notices and lets go of me. He puts his hands up placatingly. “All I’m saying is, Ginny called you first. I overheard what she told you on the phone. It’s just you two, and Jane, that know about this. I would advise for you to keep it that way. The last thing we want is campus security getting involved on a case that Cary Thompson is already looking into.”He’s right. If the girls in the house find out that one of their housemates is missing, it could cause campus wide panic. It could also alert the kidnappers to get further away from our reach. “What do you suggest I do then?” I ask, hating how anxious I feel about this. “I promised to help her. I was supposed to have one of my guards dispatched here in the morning. Oh Aiden, what are we going to do

WillowIt’s funny how we wait until bad things happen before we have regrets.Infamous what-ifs.What if I didn’t call Violet? What if I didn’t ask her to come along to white oaks? Would she be lying on a hospital bed right now? She’s not the only one. Tessa is lying on a bed next to hers. She’s still unconscious but the doctor already reassured us that she will be fine. Jane has been crying hysterically and so, Ginny had no choice but to take her home. Even Aiden already left to answer a summons from his step father. I’m left here with no one else but Vincent. “What was she thinking?” Vincent sighs for the umpteenth time. “We all know the vampires wouldn’t have been able to get on the chopper without being invited in. Why did she choose to remain outside? It makes no sense.”“I know.” I shut my eyes, trying and failing to block out the horrific images of Violet being fed on. I still recall the crippling sense of helplessness I had felt, watching my best friend fade away before

WillowSurely, this is not what I think it is. Surely, I had seen it all wrong. “Willow.” I can tell that I have shocked him. There is this one scary moment, where I think he is about to jump me. But then, I remember that it’s Rowan. One of my closest friends. One of those who wish to see me succeed and shine in everything I do.“I can explain,” he starts, holding his hands up. His fingers are coated in blood. His blood. My eyes weren’t deceiving me. What I had seen, as much as I would love to deny it, it’s not possible. “You’re a—“ My breath hitches. It’s hard to say it out loud. “What the hell are you? What did I just walk into?”“Willow,” he still has that deer in the headlights look in his eyes. “Don’t even try denying it because I saw everything.” I point towards Violet. “I saw how you fed her your blood. And take a look. The marks on her neck are all but gone. And so, I’ll ask again. What are you Rowan?”“I’m a vampire,” he remains frozen in place. His eyes are fastened on
