Lahat ng Kabanata ng Chasing Back My Secret Luna: Kabanata 41 - Kabanata 50

Kimberley's POV"Velvet, what are you doing here?" I asked, my heart beginning to beat erratically. She looked at me and then away. Suddenly, everything fit into place—how Clara was always getting reports, the rumors that were spreading about me. It was all her. She was the rat that Clara had planted in the hospital. My heart seized for a moment. I should be used to betrayal by now, but it still cut through me like a knife, pushing down on my chest hard. She briefly made eye contact with me and then looked away in the next moment, as if looking at me physically hurt her."Velvet, what are you doing here?" I asked again, my hands pressed against the folder in front of me, already knowing the answer to my question.Surprisingly, it was Clara who gave it to me. She stood up, her back as straight as a pin. "Please sit down, Dr. Dove. I would appreciate it if you don't try to intimidate the head doctor. She is standing here as a witness right now, and they don't have much time to spare. Su

Kimberley's POVI hesitated for what felt like a second too long, but then the words were catapulted out of my mouth in rapid succession. "Kids get along really well; at this age, it’s nothing special."I felt like the edge of defensiveness in my voice was a little too tight. It was too late to back away from it, so I just continued that way, softening my voice by the slightest bit.She shook her head fervently. "I would argue that it's very special. I think they're all going to be good friends. And that's great, because I don't want my little one to be lonely anymore."Before I could ask what she meant by that, my children came running over. Reed reached me first. "Mommy! Mommy!" he said. "Can Cooper come see us again?"Then Rosalie joined in. "Yes, Cooper is so much fun!"Even Lily nodded in agreement. Cooper was just smiling, his eyes so big that they almost looked cartoonish. All the kids were so excited, and I felt like a monster popping their bubbles. My kids have had to be very

Kimberly's POV"Martha, do you really want to keep your job?" I asked my children's nanny at the break of dawn. She squirmed on the living room table, flicked her eyes to me, and then away. "I'm sorry," she apologized for about the millionth time. "She came in with those large, scary guards and there wasn't really anything I could do.""I understand that, Martha. At least you should have called me. You should have said something instead of just standing like that. Don't you know how worried I was?"Her eyes went downward. "I'm so sorry, Kimberly. I'm terrible. You leave your children in my care and I continue to disappoint you over and over again. I don't deserve this job. If you decide to fire me right now, I won't even blame you. Just do whatever you think is right."I stood up from the chair that I was sitting on and began to pace from one side of the kitchen over to another. "I don't want to fire you, Martha. Just like the last time, I understand that it must have been confusing f

Kimberly's POV"I don't know how I can thank you enough, Doctor Dove. You saved our Alice," the man at the hospital said. He turned out to be the Beta of this pack, and his daughter Alice was the little girl that I could not bring myself to give up on, especially after seeing her father's expression, as though his entire world had been taken away from him.And somehow, my will had metamorphosed itself into reality. A blue light emanating from my hands covered the girl, and her skin that had turned almost purple began to lighten until she looked much better. There was still a hint of purple in her skin, but when she was tested, she was at the same level as people in the yellow room that could be taken to the white room after some days.Nobody could believe it. There were myths about such a healing ability; people said that hundreds of years ago the moon goddess had blessed one person in every generation, but they had not seen it in so long that it had been forgotten. But my gift coming

Kimberly's POVWith Clara, there was always something to expect. And more than anybody else, I wished that most of the time those things could be positive, or things that didn't make my heart race in the wrong way. I knew that she was always plotting something behind that innocent facade, and I was just waiting for her to take off the mask and show her real colors at any given time. I knew that tonight would not be any different than all the other times; she would do the exact same thing.Nevertheless, I called Julian and asked if he could come because, once again, she was wiggling her Luna authority over me. As much as I hated it, I could not just ignore her. Perhaps I would draw the line after this second double date, because I didn't want to repeat this again.Julian was not enthusiastic over the line, and I was almost disposed to just telling him that he didn't have to bother about it. But I was desperate, so I just asked him again. He agreed, and even though he seemed like he woul
