131- The Gift

Kristine led me to the terrace, the moonlight casting on us to create an ethereal moment, to share an unforgettable kiss I would engrave in my core, the most beautiful moment of my life. “You promise, Zayne. I am 18 tonight.” Kristine insisted, her fingers clutching around my shirt, inducing an exquisite sensation. Our heartbeats were moving in sync, I couldn’t help but to sway in the moment, holding her wrist gentle, staring keenly at the desperate woman. “Were you waiting this badly for me?”She nodded hastily, closing the gap between us, “More than you can imagine. Kiss me. You promised you would.”“I don’t think we…”Her patience was at her limit. Shutting her eyes, she whisper-yelled, unable to control her magnifying desire.“I don’t care about our status, dammit! I want you! I want the man I love to kiss me! Just kiss me, please…!” “You asked for it.” Sighing in defeat, I knew I had promised and she was 18 finally, plus our growing longing for each other hand became unendura

132- Lovely Moments

THIRD POV***************One day before her 20th birthday, Kristine was walking through the corridor, humming a melody to herself with a never-ending grin plastered on her features.Looking forward to her ‘gift’ from Zayne. Before her mind could register, a hand extended and grabbed her wrist, halting her breaths at the intense contact. “My, my, where is that angel going?” Zayne emerged from the other side, pressing his thumb on her pulse, his eyes darkened with desire. Her face flushed, glancing at the corners, “Zayne? What are you doing? Dad is in the next corridor,” She whispered, trying to break her wrist free.“So what? Tell my heart to stop.” Pressing her against the wall, his weight captured her body into his, submerging them in the moment where nothing but they exist. Zayne wished to create a world like this.Just the two of them. No restriction, no status, no fear.“God, ever since you got Dorian’s approval, you have become reckless.” She giggled, poking his heart with h

133- Birthday Gift

KRISTINE’S POV*********************Happy birthday to me.I slipped out of my room and moved silently through the dark corridors. My ‘gift’ was waiting for me and I needed that more than I could realize. I didn’t care about anything tonight except him.Zayne’s door was already slightly open. He was waiting for me with the same intensity as mine. The second I entered the room, his hand came from the side, locking the door so nobody could interrupt us.“Happy birthday my dear Kristine. Happy birthday to you…” He began to sing in a musical tone, his exquisite blue eyes observing my night robe hungrily. He tugged a strand behind my ear before leading down and capturing my lips with his talented ones. I smiled, kissing him back hopelessly. My heart rate rose. Excitement was building in my body. The knot of lust was too much. I fucking needed Zayne. He had become essential to my breaths.“My birthday gift, Zayne,” I whispered against his lips, my fingers already sliding into his hair,

134- Lifetime Trauma

After our heavenly moment, I cleaned myself up and changed into my pajamas while waiting for Dorian to return. He would be home soon. He wished me precisely at 12, so I sent him away to get me cake from a specific far-away bakery to get some alone time with Zayne.I received my gift from the man I love.Beaming, I was walking down the corridors, humming to myself, going back to Zayne’s room to drag him out while we waited for the cake.On the way, I heard voices coming from the other room, bewildering me as to who could be awake at that hour.“Please stop coming after me. I.. I cannot do this. I don’t want this.” I recognized the voice as Zayne’s mother. She was whimpering, her voice miserable and the thought of her being in trouble made me agitated.Who would dare to hurt my supposed mother-in-law?I snuck up, opened her door slowly and was staggered to find none other than my own father there. He pinned her down on the bed with a predatory look.“Why not? You’re so damn beautiful L

135- Unbearable Nightmares

THIRD POV***************After being unconscious for three days, Krisitne woke up with a burning fever and barely enough strength to stand on her feet.Dorian was beside her. Changing towels on her forehead. His condition was a mess, his messy sleeves roughly rolled upward. Massaging her feet to help her body recover. She gasped, regaining her senses as what happened struck her harder than any blow. “Do-Dorian, What.. What happened?”“Kristine, relax…” He whispered, sitting beside her and holding her burning palm, rubbing it. “Do-Dorian, Dad.. he… he.. Was.. I didn’t know what else to do… I don’t know… What took over me…” Kristine started to panic, tears streaming from the corner.Dorian held her face, uncertain what to do to reduce the sting of her soul.“I heard what happened. You don’t have to worry about anything. I will take care of it.”“Zayne…? Where is Zayne? I—I need to see him…” She whimpered, trying to move, but her head throbbing violently, dying to see him, but he held

136- Recovering Memories

KRISTINE’S POV*********************PRESENT:To say I was shocked would be an understatement. The past concealed to me was before me and I found it unbelievable. Covering my mouth with the back of my palm, tears were shining on my cheeks. The truth had pierced my heart.Suddenly, the world I had created with pride, thinking it was “clean” had perished.“And… you? How did I forget you?” I asked, on the verge of shattering into endless cries but swallowing it down.“I told Dorian to do it.” He breathed out, hanging his head low, emitting endless gloom.“You were too attached to me. You couldn’t breathe without me, so he obliterated the word “Nightwood” from your memories.” Shutting my eyes, silent tears rolled down. My heart was consumed by a void where my insides were burning. All this happened, and I was oblivious to it…? How could I?“That is why I… had no memory why Dorian killed my father. I only remember the reflection. He was holding a… cane. His hand is bloody.”He took a d

137- Hollowness

After regaining my memories, a void had settled on my core. My eyes were empty, staring into nothingness for hours. A blankness had consumed me where I had no idea what to do or what to speak. Everything was just… hollow. What should I do? What should I say?Breathing had become a burden, I stayed fazed for hours until someone called out.“Madam?”“Huh? What?”Blinking, I realized I had been in the same position for quite a while, leaving all my work undone as well.“The files… they need your signature.” “What were these for again?” I asked. The authority in my tone was gone. I couldn’t maintain my frontage as a boss either.“For the collaboration with the Hoteliers for our new collection launch. The event is in two months. We had to start right away.” She explained, baffled. How could I forget about such an important collaboration for my brand?Sighing, I shook my head, signing the papers, “Right… right.”“Are you alright, Ma’am?” She asked worriedly.“I don’t know…” I rubbed my t

138- Becoming One

“What? You — you can’t be serious, right?” To say I was shocked would be an understatement.“I am dead serious.”Zayne’s thumb gently brushed away the tear on my cheek, his eyes burning with quiet devotion that enhanced my feelings for him.“But, my father… he.. He did so bad to your mother. How could you forgive and move on and work for Dorian again?”Zayne exhaled slowly, pulling me closer until our foreheads touched, trying to reduce the sting in my body.“Edric killed my family. My mother died, my sister was never seen again. My Miss Iglesias was in a relationship with the same man…” He swallowed hard. My gaze lowered with embarrassment, clutching the sheets, unable to lift my head. “What else could I have done?” He chuckled empty, piercing my heart.“That was the only way to be near you, to ensure Dorian wouldn’t stop me from being yours… I wanted you back so badly that I stopped thinking about everything else.” My heart shattered, breaths struck at my throat. I cupped his fa

139- An Invisible Bride?

ZAYNE’S POV******************With my heart at cloud-nine, and a never-ending grin, I was with Kieran. In his strip club, as this man had nowhere else to be at.We were in the VIP lounge, a dancer was giving this fuckboy a lap dance. His hand printed on her ass, gripping it while I had to keep my eyes locked on the table.Suddenly, the tables were ‘very’ intriguing. “How does it feel, Bro?”“Hmm?” “You are no longer Dorian’s Dog or a Hunter. You are no longer bound to any shackles. You are… hers. Finally, hers.” He teased me.Letting out a snicker as the sloppy sound of the kiss made me feel disgusted. I had no interest in the temptation he had been constantly trying to force on me. He pulled away, releasing a breathless laughter, “Annnnd, I was right all this time. You really did love her.”“Yes, Kieran. I did.” I smiled sincerely, tracing my index finger over my bottom lips with pure intent to worship the lips I kissed. He slowly relaxed, giving the girl two taps– Where? I didn

140- Kieran’s Truth

The acceptance was more sacred and endearing than I could have imagined. With my heart overflowing with inexplicable glee and a never-ending smile, I entered my home only to find the atmosphere was thick with fatality.“Oh shit.” Whispering under my breath, my steps slowed down.I could feel the fumes emitting from the woman standing on the space between the stairs, tapping her foot dangerously on the wood. She asked strictly, arms closed at her chest, “Where were you?” “Um, with Kieran?” I let out a nervous smile. “Where with Kieran?” She pressed. Her eyes hardened, observing me thoroughly, enough to halt my breaths. Folding my hands behind me, I was standing below, giving her an apologetic look.“Um, his club…”She corrected me with a hissing sound, “His 'strip' club.”“I did not lift my head, let alone look at a woman. I swear, my dear.” She turned, and my steps mindlessly followed her, trying to explain to her. “What should I do when that bastard doesn’t stay at his home? Tha
