Lahat ng Kabanata ng THE REJECTED LUNA’S SECOND CHANCE WITH THE BIKER ALPHA: Kabanata 161 - Kabanata 170

Bella’s POV“Everybody out. Now.”Dravens voice was really loud in the room. It stopped all the noise. I felt Dravens hand grab my arm. He pulled me towards the doors. The old leaders were still shouting behind us. The guards did not know what to do. They were not sure if they should remain and guard the room or take everyone out of there. My legs were very tired, from everything that happened in the two days. They did not want to move. My body kept moving because I was scared of what Draven would do if I did not.We only took three steps before everything went black and the lights went out.Draven and I were stuck in the dark. All the lights went out at the time. The chamber dropped into darkness. It was so dark that it took my eyes seconds to see even the faintest outlines of the room, around Draven and me. Somewhere in that dark, I heard the distinct sound of a body hitting stone, and then another, quick and controlled, the particular efficiency of people who’d trained for exactly

Bella’s POVThe refuge turned out to be an old farmhouse, sagging at the edges, hidden behind enough overgrown brush that I understood immediately why it had survived thirty years without discovery. We got to the place before it was really daytime. We were all tired and hurt. Ronan was still shaking like a leaf from what had happened to him from the thing that had made him hurt the people he was supposed to help. Nobody said much on the way to the house we were all too tired to talk we just. Breathed. We had left our cars back where we started. Now we were just trying to get to the house. The house smelled old and dusty when we finally got inside it smelled like wood smoke too. It was so quiet in there it felt like nobody had lived in the house for a time like it had been empty, for longer than anyone had ever lived in it.Gordon got the fireplace going while Thor checked the perimeter, old habits from a night that had already taught us exactly how quickly safety could turn into ambus

Bella’s POVThe days that came after felt like a jumble of tiredness and something unfamiliar like a mix of healing and being under attack. We returned to the compound after spending three days at the farmhouse once Draven decided the danger of an attack had changed into something more patient more planned out. The story about the council room did not go away. It actually got stronger as other people repeated it and added details. This turned one afternoon into a story about the council room being unstable. The story about the council room followed the council room wherever we went. I started jumping every time a phone rang in the house. This was a feeling for me. It was not there a week before. Now my body reacted this way all the time. One afternoon I was in the garage. I watched Gordon take another call from a supplier. The supplier was backing out of a long-time deal with the council room. I felt something in my chest. I did not know what it was at first. Then I realized it was fe

Bella’s POVWe talked until the fire in Draven’s study burned down to embers, neither of us willing to be the one who left the conversation unfinished."I was thinking out loud because it was not helping me to think about it quietly in my mind " I said. The pressure does not get better if I stay. It probably gets worse the longer she sees the Artificial Intelligence system hold together despite everything she is doing to us.Draven said ". If you leave." His voice was very calm. I could tell it was hard for him to ask the question. "Tell me what you really think will happen if you leave the Artificial Intelligence system " he said.I think some of the pressure eases, at least in front of others. The story changes. Maybe some of the deals come back once it seems like the two of us aren't together anymore for her to focus on as one person. I hated how logical the words felt even as I said them hated the pain of seeing Draven’s face stay calm while something clearly hurt him to hear. ".

Bella’s POV“I’m not leaving,” my aunt said, “if that’s what you’re bracing yourself to hear.”I let out a breath that I did not know I was holding. Then what were you preparing me for I asked her.The end of answers she said. She held the teacup tighter in her hands. I meant that I cannot stay here forever hiding behind your walls while you are fighting a war that I helped start a time ago before you were even born. I owe your family more than hiding. I just do not know what that means I should do. I did not want you to think that I would run away again as soon as things got tough.Something in my chest felt better like a weight was lifted off. I felt relieved. I understood her. I looked at her face still noticing all the things that remind me of my mother, who I barely remember. I am still surprised when I see parts of myself in her face even though she is a stranger, to me.“Take whatever time you need to figure it out,” I said.“You’re not required to have every answer today.”She
