Aurora’s POV“Take your hand off him.”Sebastian doesn’t move.Damien is still pinned to the kitchen counter, one hand at his throat, breath rough, eyes fixed on me like he knows I’m the only reason this does not turn into something simpler and uglier.“Aurora,” Sebastian says. “Let him go.” He holds my gaze for one second longer, then he steps back.Damien coughs once, straightens slowly, and smooths the front of his shirt, like that somehow gives him his dignity back.
