The light came from the wall that Varkos came through. He hit Selene like a battering ram. The massive black wolf slammed into her side, driving her off her feet and into the stone wall. She yelped, scrambling, but Varkos was on her, jaws crushing her shoulder, claws pinning her thrashing body to the cold floor. Rowan had come.
