Wrecked

LEAH "I'm so sorry for your loss, Luna." The pack doctor, a middle-aged man with glasses and hair going silver at the temples, looked at me with a pained expression. "We did everything we could. Your future pups... we couldn't save them." "Tell me you're lying. This can't be real." My voice was trembling, my throat tightening as I fought to hold back the flood of tears. “The severe impact you experienced caused significant trauma to the fetus and triggered a placental abruption, Luna...." But hearing it said out loud, that final, that certain, without a single crack left for hope, destroyed whatever was left of my composure. The sobs came like a dam breaking, uncontrollable, mixed heartbreaking cries. I had wanted these pups so badly. More than I ever let on to Cain. "Please, doctor, please, do something, there has to be a mistake..." I tried to push myself up from the bed, grabbing the doctor's arm as he shifted uncomfortably in front of me. "Luna Leah, you need to cal

Betrayed

Eight years ago, one day after Abel died, Celeste came to us.Cain and I had just gotten married. We hadn't even had our first night together yet. Celeste showed up at our door holding a pregnancy test with two pink lines, telling us the pup she was carrying belonged to Abel. And from that day on Cain decided Celeste would stay with us until she gave birth. Not only that, he made a promise over Abel's grave that he would look after her. For Abel. From that day on, Celeste became Cain's priority. For nine months I took care of her. I gave up my husband every two weeks so he could take her to her prenatal checkups. I let Cain pour every bit of his attention into her under the excuse that she needed support to get through the grief of losing her mate.Every werewolf knew what it meant to lose a mate. It wasn't just heartbreak. It was like losing half of your own soul, half of your shift, half of everything that made you whole. I understood that. I never once faulted Celeste for her grief

Damaged

"I lost our pups." "Mm." His thumb kept moving across the screen. "Anyway, Brody hasn't eaten yet. Make him breakfast. Simple is fine." I didn't respond. I was too stunned to respond. What Cain was doing was cruel beyond anything I had words for. After everything I had given up, after walking away from my own future to marry him, after eight years of this house and this pack and this life that never once felt like it belonged to me. "Oh and Celeste is here too. Make enough for three." Brody looked up from his toys. "I want pancakes, Aunt Leah!" Cain's whole face softened as he looked at him. "Pancakes take too long, bud. Eggs for now, yeah?" Then he glanced over at me to confirm. "That work?" Before I could say anything, the sound of heels came down the main staircase. Precise and unhurried. Lady Margaret. Cain's mother. She descended the stairs in a silk robe the color of ash, silver hair already pinned perfectly, a cup of coffee in one hand like she had been awake fo

Bad Memories

I had just zipped up my bag when the bedroom door swung open. I didn't need to turn around to know who it was — that perfume always clung to her. It dragged up every bad memory I'd buried during my years as her daughter-in-law. Every bit of suffering in this house started with Lady Margaret. "What are you doing? And what is that?" She was still standing in the doorway, her eyes moving from my face to the bag I was stuffing with what little clothing I owned. "I'm leaving," I said flatly, not looking at her. I picked up the bag and slung it over my shoulder. Margaret stepped inside and slammed the teacup she'd been holding onto the vanity table. "You're not going anywhere, omega trash." Her voice dropped into a low, venomous hiss. "You only became this pack's Luna because Cain's Dad felt sorry for you after your Dad died. So...you don't get to walk out of here like some cheap omega who forgot her place."She was right, Cain’s dad, Alpha Nex Hargrove was the only person in this

Nothing Come Free

LEAH "Who sent you?" I asked low and sharp. "The one responsible for your father's death." That stopped me cold. My father, died eleven years ago in a lycan brutal attack. He was just a man who doing his job, trying to protect a warehouse full of food and medicine supplies, and those fucking monsters tore him apart without a second thought until he took his last breath. I stared at the driver, eyes narrowing, gaze dropping to his collar. There was a small emblem stitched there, one I knew the second I saw it, because a shredded piece of that same emblem was balled up in my father's fist when Cain's Dad found him. The Vorreth. A lycan clan that had the whole country scared to say their name out loud. Killers who operated completely above the law. A name nobody in our pack said above a whisper after that night. "We can offer you shelter," the bald man said. I said nothing, just stared at the long empty road ahead. Hot, bare, stretching on in a way that didn't promise much at th

Way Too Hot

His thumb traced along my jaw like he had every right to touch me. The heat coming off his skin was insane — way too hot, like this bastard was straight-up branding me with molten iron. That Lycan energy prickled across my nerves, making my pulse stutter while something between my thighs tightened up at the same damn time. Super embarrassing. I cursed myself out. My body had no fucking business reacting like this to the clan leader with my dad’s blood all over his hands. Before I knew it, my hand shot up and slapped Kieran’s away like a mosquito. “Don’t touch me, asshole,” I snapped, stepping back with a sharp glare. “If you’re gonna make an offer, at least drop the cheap romance novel drama.” The corner of his mouth curved into that slow, arrogant smirk. He shoved his hand back in his pocket, totally unfazed. Those ice-cold gray eyes raked over me like I was something he’d already decided to devour. “I have a name, Leah.” He nodded at the gold nameplate on his desk that said

Trained Poodle

KIERAN'S POV The blood on my palm had started drying, leaving a warm, sticky mess, but I deliberately held back my Lycan power so the wound wouldn’t heal yet. I wanted to feel the burn. I wanted to remember exactly how this woman next to me had tried to slice my throat open with pure rage in her eyes just minutes ago. But now she was obeying me like a trained poodle, sitting quietly in the car.Even though she sat there with her mouth clamped shut, arms crossed tight over her chest, staring straight ahead like she was terrified I’d ram this car into a damn bus.***Thirty minutes later, we pulled up to my mansion.I’d already told Dex that Leah was coming with me and ordered him to prep a room for her on the top floor, the one right next to mine. The second the big double doors of the Vorreth mansion swung open, the familiar smell of home hit me. But tonight it was mixed with pine, vanilla, and mint — Leah’s intoxicating scent that messed with my head.Dex was waiting in the main hal

Try Me, Lil Wolf

LEAH I kept my spine straight as I walked out of Kieran's office, ignoring the feel of his steel-gray eyes boring into the back of my neck. I refused to look weak or shaky in front of Dex, his loyal Beta, who was now walking a few steps ahead of me to show me to my room. "Right this way, Miss Callahan," he said, his tone surprisingly friendly. "Alpha Kieran asked me to set you up in a room on the same floor as his, and honestly? That's pretty wild," he added casually. "Because Alpha Kieran absolutely hates having strangers on his floor." I didn’t respond. I kept my face blank, even though my mind was spinning. Why would Kieran want me so close? Did he think I’d run? Or did he just want to keep a short leash on me? "On the left is the training room. Alpha Kieran is usually there at dawn, so if you want to work out, I’d recommend avoiding the early morning—” “I don’t need his schedule.” “Oh, of course. I was only saying it for your own convenience, Miss.” Dex continued w

Heated Up

LEAH And there it was again, the greatest betrayal my own body could pull off. Every wall of defense, every drop of anger and self-respect I'd scraped together since last night crumbled in seconds under that dominant gray-eyed stare. My nerves fired all at once. The hollow ache in my empty womb vanished instantly, replaced by a sharp sting of arousal that had my thighs pressing together on reflex, my whole body flaring hot like I'd touched a live wire. I bit the inside of my cheek, trying to hold back the strange rush that kept rippling through me. This is wrong. Completely, utterly wrong. I should hate him. I do hate him, I swear to God I do, but standing in front of an Alpha like him, my body responded with a level of obedience so disgusting it made my skin crawl. Like a poodle that just got snapped at by its owner, I shrank on the spot, losing every bit of the bite I'd just been throwing at Dex. My defensiveness just melted away, swallowed up by a total submission that had m

Done Being Doormat

LEAHAfter Kieran nearly stopped my heart, he just strolled out like nothing happened, leaving me sprawled in the bedroom on rubber legs. What the hell was that? I've never felt anything remotely close to that, not even with Cain. What's wrong with me?I took a shaky breath and finally dragged myself over to the vanity. Started opening drawers, hoping to find a comb or something to fix my hair. Then I nearly jumped out of my skin when I found makeup, a straightener, and a bunch of hair stuff tucked inside.Kieran Draven kept this stuff in a guest room? Interesting. After throwing on some light makeup and doing what I could with my hair, I headed downstairs where Kieran was already waiting at the breakfast table. Yeah, it was past ten in the morning, but whatever. The black velvet dress he'd picked out clung to every curve as I moved, scooping low in the front. The kind of dress that let the cold corridor air hit my exposed shoulders and chest. Honestly, it felt weird as hell wearing s
