Chapter 1

Tommy's POVMy body remained stiff even when I sat on the couch.Yasmin Smith laughed at how pathetic I looked. She shoved the crushed rose into my hand and said, "Do you still remember the day of your mom's funeral? Zach and I were just next door, and we used up a box of condoms."After a momentary pause, she flashed a smile, seemingly reliving the day. "There was only a wall between us. He was so strong. He thrust into me so hard that my moans drowned out your cries. It was pretty exciting."It was my first time seeing such a wild man like him. He was completely different from you, and that was when I got attracted to him."Her words hit me like a thunderbolt, making my head buzz. I widened my eyes in disbelief. That day, I cried my heart out until I almost passed out.But when someone helped me out, Yasmin was walking more unsteadily than me.Zachary Grant stood beside me and patted my shoulder, his voice low. "I'm sorry for your loss. Your mom's gone, and Yasmin is really

Tommy's POVI lowered my head and noticed that I got a cut on the back of my hand without realizing it.Seeing that I remained silent, she released her grip and said in a softer tone, "Alright. You've smashed the glass and thrown a fit. Stop giving me attitude."I don't intend to be with him. It's just a certificate. Once the formalities are finalized, I'll divorce him. It's fine to fool around with someone like Zachary, but it's gonna be draining to be with him and attend to him."She paused momentarily, then continued, "You're different, Tom. You've always been gentle, and you can put up with how unreasonable I am. You're a good fit as my husband."Don't worry. We can register our marriage again a month later. It's been your dad's biggest regret that he didn't get to attend our wedding ceremony. When the time comes, let's hold a banquet for his sake."Before she finished speaking, her phone vibrated. As soon as she glanced at it, a smile crossed her face. "Zach said he's here.

Tommy's POVWhen I opened my eyes, I met Yasmin's gaze. Her eyes lit up with joy as she hugged me. "Tom, we have a baby now!"As she said that, she tugged at my hand and forcefully placed it on her bump. "It's our baby. You'll be a father soon!"I was stunned and didn't push her away. After all, I had undergone the procedure over 30 times, but Yasmin still failed to conceive. I had long given up on having my own child.Something stirred within me, and I was about to reply when she added, "This is great! Zach has always wanted a child. Once I give birth to this baby, I can let him adopt them."My blood ran cold instantly. "What did you say?"Yasmin frowned, seeming displeased at my reaction. "Zach has always wanted a child, but he's infertile. Just do him a favor, okay? Besides, you're still the child's dad."She took out her phone, transferred 500 thousand dollars to me, and kissed me. "Just listen to me. You're the best."I immediately shoved her away in disbelief, my voice

Chapter 4

Tommy's POVI was woken up by the noise outside the ward."That's Tommy? He seems like an honest man. I didn't expect him to be such a jerk. His wife just got pregnant, but he's already messing around with other women.""He's a bastard! Does he have no conscience? How disgusting!"My heart skipped a beat, and I picked up my phone with my trembling hands.I saw my photos with those female escorts in compromising positions trending on the internet. The murmurs outside the ward blended with the curses flooding the screen. In an instant, my heart started pounding, my ears ringing.Just then, the door was pushed open with a loud bang. The doctor on duty said anxiously, "Your dad saw the news on the internet. He was triggered, and his condition has worsened. He needs to undergo surgery immediately. Make the payment right now!"I stared at him in a daze and only came to my senses after a long while. My dad was still waiting for me.At that thought, I propped myself up and went to ma

Third-Person POVSomeone had to hold Yasmin back tightly to stop her from jumping off the building with Tommy. She leaned out of the window. When she saw the pool of blood on the ground, everything went black for a moment, and she almost fainted. She stumbled downstairs and found Tommy lying there, the blood beneath him gradually spreading across the floor. At that moment, her ears were ringing, and the world around her faded into a dull hush. When she came to her senses, she scrambled toward him in panic, her hands trembling uncontrollably. "Tom, stop messing around. Get up now."She had never sounded so anxious before. "Tom, don't scare me…"She reached out, wanting to shake him, but withdrew her hands the next instant. She didn't even dare to touch him.She couldn't understand why he had jumped off the building just because she asked him to apologize to Zachary."Tom, it's fine that you're mad at me, but are you going to leave your dad behind?"Trembling, she checked his b

Third-Person POVYasmin widened her eyes, clearly at a loss for words. "I was just saying that. Who told you guys to listen to him? Get rid of the photos and trending topics by dawn, or you guys can forget about coming back!"By the way, once the doctors from overseas arrive, send a few of them to check on Tom's dad. I heard his condition is unstable."After her subordinates heard her order and fled in horror, she pressed both hands against the wall, shaking violently as if all strength had drained from her body."I'm sorry, Tom. I didn't know… I didn't know about that."Her voice became softer as she sobbed. "Wake up. I'll never lie to you again. We'll register our marriage right away. I'll never fool you again. Tom, please wake up, okay?"At midnight, the doctor finally came with the examination report.Staring at Yasmin, the doctor gradually said with a solemn expression, "The patient is out of danger now, but he's suffered a serious injury. He has multiple fractures, and his

They kept kicking his ribs. He curled up, barely moving, too weak to even scream. Then, she saw Zachary summon a group of female escorts. They were laughing as they dragged Tommy, who was covered in blood, and forced him into all sorts of compromising positions. Meanwhile, Zachary leaned against the wall, smoking and laughing. The footage was blurry, but she could clearly see that Tommy remained still all the time. She dug her nails into her palm, blood trickling down her fingers. Yasmin shot to her feet and kicked the desk in front of her, her eyes bloodshot. "Zachary Grant!"After that day, she did everything she could to back Zachary into a corner.Grant Group almost went bankrupt overnight. When the news of Zachary's father taking his own life spread

I'm truly sorry."She stayed by his side in the ward every day.The doctor advised that Tommy had to be physically active, so she learned how to give him a massage. She was clumsy, and sometimes, she started tearing up when she was doing it.She would tell Tommy about their past. She talked about how he looked in a white shirt the first time they met, and she couldn't bring herself to continue. She buried her face in his palm, her shoulders quivering. She refused to eat, and all the food the caregiver served was left to go cold. She wasn't sleeping either. She had been sitting by Tommy's bedside, staring at him all day and night, fearing that she wouldn't get to see him open his eyes.In less than half a month, she had grown noticeably thinner.
