When Yasmin Smith comes to the courthouse to pick me up from work, she suddenly hands me a copy of her marriage certificate. "To tell you the truth, our marriage certificate is forged. I was just messing with you when I told you that I wanted to remarry you." Before I can register the news, Yasmin produces a brand new—and certified—copy of her other marriage certificate. She's already smiling bashfully. "Last night, Zach embraced me and kissed me throughout the night. It felt so good that I couldn't resist him at all. So, we ended up getting our marriage registered for real." I feel nothing but chills seeping through my pores thanks to Yasmin's second betrayal. As I stare at her in disbelief, I feel my voice starting to quiver. "Why?" "Because you're dumb." Yasmin chuckles lightly as she taps a finger on my face, which is starting to go pale. "Previously, it took you three years to find out about my affair with Zach. That's why I made another bet with him to see how long it'd take you to realize that I'm cheating on you again." Her gaze lands on the hickey decorating my neck, which has yet to fade away. Then, she shrugs at me. "Zach thought that it'd take you one year. That's why I slipped up many times purposefully over the year. But I've already grown tired of acting, and yet you never picked up a single clue. "Today is the last day of the bet. I want Zach to win, so I have no choice but to come clean to you."

Chapter 1

Tommy's POV

My body remained stiff even when I sat on the couch.

Yasmin Smith laughed at how pathetic I looked.

She shoved the crushed rose into my hand and said, "Do you still remember the day of your mom's funeral? Zach and I were just next door, and we used up a box of condoms."

After a momentary pause, she flashed a smile, seemingly reliving the day. "There was only a wall between us. He was so strong. He thrust into me so hard that my moans drowned out your cries. It was pretty exciting.

"It was my first time seeing such a wild man like him. He was completely different from you, and that was when I got attracted to him."

Her words hit me like a thunderbolt, making my head buzz. I widened my eyes in disbelief.

That day, I cried my heart out until I almost passed out.

But when someone helped me out, Yasmin was walking more unsteadily than me.

Zachary Grant stood beside me and patted my shoulder, his voice low. "I'm sorry for your loss. Your mom's gone, and Yasmin is really sad, too. She's your wife, after all. Pay more attention to her."

I believed what Zachary had told me. He was the friend I trusted the most, and Yasmin was the woman I loved the most.

I had never doubted them a single bit.

Faced with their betrayal, I felt a sharp, freezing pain shoot through my entire body.

When I caught them red-handed, I thought I'd never forgive them. Then one day, my dad fell severely ill, and I collapsed outside the operating room.

Yasmin handled the payment and procedure for me, while Zachary was busy taking care of everything else.

People tended to forgive more easily when they were vulnerable.

Yasmin seemed to have seen through me and sneered, "You're too soft-hearted, Tommy Sullivan. I got on my knees, put on an act in front of your dad, and sent some flowers. Then you agreed to marry me again. Zachary couldn't stop laughing at that."

I froze at that revelation.

When I came back to my senses, I grabbed the glass from the table and smashed it on the floor, bellowing, "Why are you guys doing this to me?"

A surprised look flickered in Yasmin's eyes.

She glanced up and shot me a look, then tilted her head and chuckled. "How is it? Zach, are you enjoying the show?"

I paused and stared at her, puzzled.

The next instant, her phone screen lit up. Zachary's face appeared on the screen, and he let out a muffled laugh. "You did well, dear. You get to be on top tonight."

Startled, I raised my head and felt my blood running cold.

"Zach really wanted to see how you lost control, so he asked me to stream it for him. You know how domineering he is. If I don't agree to it, he's gonna make me suffer tonight."

I stared at Zachary, who wore a knowing smile, and felt my ears buzzing. Then my vision went black.

I propped myself on the table to keep my balance.

When I returned to my senses, Zachary leaned closer to the camera and spoke in a low voice. "Tom, you look worse than before. I'm pretty pleased."

The screen went black, and Yasmin acted as if nothing had happened.

She swept her gaze across me, then froze and grabbed my hand with a frown. "How did you get a cut?"
