Elias Vale PovThe cramp hit harder this time. I curled up tighter in the nest, one hand pressed to my stomach like I could stop it. It felt like something was pulling inside me, twisting. Not the worst pain I’d ever had, but scary because of the baby.Kael was right there, holding me. His voice sounded tight. “Breathe, Elias. Just breathe. The doctor is coming.”I nodded but kept my eyes squeezed shut. “It hurts… not like before. Deeper.”He rubbed my back in slow circles, the way he’d learned helped during the heat. “I know. I feel it too through the bond. Draven’s doing this. That bastard is triggering the serum somehow.”The doctor arrived a few minutes later, looking serious with his bag. He checked me over while Kael stayed right beside the nest, one hand never leaving my shoulder.“The pup is okay,” the doctor said after a while. “Heartbeat is strong. But the serum is reacting to stress. We need to keep you calm. No more messages if we want to help it just rest and stay close t

Elias Vale PovKael showed me the video where Seraphina handed documents to Draven’s man, his sister. The one who was supposed to protect the pack. I felt his pain hit me through the bond like a punch.“What are you going to do?” I whispered. My hand stayed on my stomach. The pup had gone quiet, like he could feel the tension too.Kael stared at the dark screen for a long time. “I don’t know.” His voice sounded tired. Broken. “She’s my sister, Elias. We’ve been through everything together. But this… it looks bad. Really bad.”I shifted closer in the nest and leaned against his side. His body was warm but stiff. “Maybe Draven is forcing her. Or making it look like she’s helping him. You said she’s always protected the pack.”“Yeah. She has.” He rubbed his face with one hand. The other stayed on my stomach. “But the messages keep coming. The leaks. Now this. I can’t ignore it anymore.”We sat there quietly for a while. I could feel how much this hurt him. The bond didn’t hide stuff like

Elias Vale PovThe photo of Seraphina tied up and beaten stayed burned in my mind even after Kael turned the phone off. His sister. The one who had been so cold to me at first. Now Draven had her. Three days—that was all we had left.I sat in the nest with my knees pulled up, one hand on my stomach. The pup felt restless, like he could sense how scared I was. Another small cramp twisted low in my belly. I breathed through it, trying not to let Kael feel how bad it was.Kael paced the room like a caged animal. His shoulders were tight, fists opening and closing. “He’s forcing my hand. My own sister. If I don’t bring you to him, he kills her. If I do, he takes you and the baby.”I watched him. The bond carried his pain so clearly it made my chest hurt. “Kael… you can’t trade me. Not for her. Not for anyone.”He stopped pacing and looked at me. His eyes were worried and tired. “You think I don’t know that? You’re carrying my child. You’re my mate. But she’s blood. Family. I can’t just l

Elias Vale PovKael’s words kept echoing in my head. Draven didn’t just want the baby. He wanted me. As his mate. He said he had fallen for me. The idea made me feel sick.I was still curled up in the nest, breathing through another cramp when Kael finished telling me everything. His arms were tight around me, like he was scared I might disappear.“He’s obsessed,” Kael said again, voice low and rough. “Not just about the genetics or the pup. He wants you, Elias. He called you his.”I pressed my face into his chest. My stomach twisted, and this time it wasn’t only the serum. “I don’t want him. I never did. I only want you… this. Us.”“I know.” He rubbed my back slowly. “But the serum… it’s messing with you. The cramps are getting worse every time he sends something. What if it starts pulling you toward him?”The fear in his voice hurt more than the pain in my belly. I looked up at him. His silver-gray eyes were tired and scared in a way I’d never seen before.“It won’t,” I whispered. “

Elias Vale PovKael stared at the tablet long after the live feed went black. Seraphina’s desperate eyes and Draven’s cold smile stayed in the room with us. My stomach twisted again, another cramp starting low and sharp. I curled tighter in the nest and tried to breathe through it.“Kael…” I gasped. “She looked really hurt. What are we going to do?”He set the tablet down hard and came back to me. His arms went around me right away, one hand on my stomach like always. “I don’t know. He’s giving us until tomorrow night now. Bring you and the baby… or he kills her.”The cramp got worse. I whimpered and pressed my face into his chest. “It hurts more when I think about it. Like he knows exactly how to make the serum react.”Kael held me tighter. His voice was rough. “I feel it through the bond. Every time. I hate this, Elias. I hate that he can reach you even here.”We stayed quiet while the pain eased. His hand rubbed slow circles on my stomach. The pup fluttered weakly, like he was tir
