Lahat ng Kabanata ng Never Betray My Love: Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 9

Natasha’s POVCole said yes, and I hung up.I turned back toward the bedroom — and the door swung open. Riven walked in with his Beta right behind him."Natasha, there's something going on at the border. We have to head out now."He pulled me into a hug and pressed a light kiss to my forehead."I'm sorry, babe. I promise, when I get back, I'll make it up to you. All my time, just for you."I stepped back without making it obvious. My expression stayed flat.Last night I'd lost all sense of him through our bond. I'd been terrified something had happened to him. Even though my body wasn't what it used to be, I was ready to go after him — and instead what I got was him walking in with Helen in his arms, kneeling at my feet, asking for forgiveness. He told me he'd slept with her because he'd been hit with an aphrodisiac during a fight with rogue wolves, that it would've killed him if he hadn't found relief, that it wasn't a choice. But our marking ceremony had barely ended, and here he was

Natasha’s POVI had no idea what he was talking about. Before I could even open my mouth, his hand closed around my throat."I actually thought you were a good person, Natasha. I thought you were kind. But this? Going after her child?""However jealous you are of Helen — that baby did nothing to you."He squeezed until I couldn't breathe. Then, slowly, he let go.I bent over, coughing hard, my voice coming out in pieces. "I... I didn't... I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't poison anyone."That only made him angrier. "Then who did? Helen just drank juice that came from you — ten minutes later she passed out. She's in surgery right now.""You're standing here acting innocent. I never knew you were this good at lying."I was still holding the stack of portraits. My eyes burned. There were a thousand things I wanted to say, and none of them would come out.Riven saw the tears building and something wavered in his expression — he feared seeing me cry more than anything. His vo

Riven’s POVAfter I left the hospital, I went straight back to the office and buried myself in the backlog. The next day, around noon, the Beta knocked and came in.I was going through a contract. "How's Natasha? Has she come around yet?"The Beta's expression was off. "Luna — we're not sure where she is."I put the contract down."What does that mean? I told her to stay at the hospital until Helen forgave her.""Helen says she fell asleep right after you left last night. She didn't see Natasha leave.""We tried calling. The number's been disconnected."Something cold settled in my gut.The Beta caught my expression and tried to ease it. "We're tracking her down now. Natasha's just a regular werewolf — where could she possibly go? She can't get out of your reach. We'll find her, you can apologize, and this blows over."That helped, a little. "Six hours. Bring her back.""Yes, Alpha."After the Beta left, I picked the contract back up. Couldn't read a single word.I tore off my tie, gra

Natasha’s POVThe car slowed as Starlight Pack came into view on the horizon.I barely had the door open before Cole had his arms around me.The Starlight Alpha stood nearby, exhaling slowly. "You're home. That's what matters."My eyes burned. My parents died when I was young. It was Starlight Pack's Alpha who took in me and Cole and raised us. When I was sixteen, I left on a mission and fell head-over-heels for Riven on the spot. I never went back.Nearly ten years without seeing my brother, all for something I'd called love.I felt the guilt of it settle heavy in my chest — time I'd wasted, people I'd left behind, a man who'd raised me that I'd never properly thanked."Natasha! Long time no see!"A bright, easy voice. I turned.A young man I almost didn't recognize — white t-shirt, arms filling out the sleeves, long legs in cargo pants tucked into boots. He looked like he'd gotten about a foot taller.I hesitated. "Kai?"He lit up, surprised I'd remembered. He'd been eight years old

Natasha’s POVRiven watched us walk out the door and then just... sat there, like someone had cut the strings. He didn't know how long he'd been sitting when a man appeared in front of him — a stranger, but something about his face was familiar.Riven frowned. "Can I help you?""Hi. I'm Natasha's brother. Cole. And you're Riven?"Riven went still. "She never mentioned a brother."Cole sat down across from him with an easy smile. "Our situation's a little complicated. I'm sure you understand by now — she couldn't exactly bring it up."He folded his hands on the table. "But I'll tell you this — my sister loved you with everything she had."The smile faded. "And you threw it away.""I love Natasha," Riven said quickly. "Helen was only ever about having an heir for the pack. I never—""Shut up!" Cole's voice dropped. "You have no right to mention the child!""You keep saying it was about your heir. Do you remember what you promised her?""Five years ago, my idiot sister told me you didn't
