Samirah POVRent was due, and my bank account was screaming. If this new position at Silver Ridge University didn't pay out soon, I’d be sleeping in my car. My landlord had just given me notice to evacuate so he could renovate the building, leaving me completely stranded.I took a deep breath, smoothing down my blazer, and pushed open the doors of the lecture hall. The room was total chaos. Papers were flying through the air, and students were shouting over one another. But the moment I stepped inside, the noise cut off. Every single student stood up out of respect. I was absolutely terrified inside, but I forced my face to stay completely blank.Except for one student. In the very back row, a tall Alpha lounged lazily. One of his boots rested right on top of the desk. Earbuds hung carelessly around his neck, and a leather jacket was draped over his broad shoulders. He wore a cocky, flirtatious smirk, trying to get the attention of a female student next to him who clearly wanted nothi

Samirah’s POV Nancy didn’t need to tell me I would be an absolute inconvenience to her and her fiancé, so I declined her offer to stay at her house before she could even twist her face into a polite lie. I bloody hate the idea of staying in the university staff lodges, but it appears I may have to if I am unable to come up with anything tangible. At the very least, I draw comfort from the knowledge that my mum is doing okay health-wise. Having just rounded up my final lecture of the afternoon, I headed across the tarmac towards my car. Halfway there, I remembered my landlord's strict parting demand: I had to fix whatever was broken in the house before handing over the keys. The pipe connected to the kitchen sink was leaking. I pulled out my phone and dialed Nancy to see if she could send me her plumber's contact details. "The kitchen sink is a nightmare, Nancy" I muttered into the receiver, unlocking my car door with the other hand. "I need to get it sorted now while it's crosse

Vickerry’s POVI crept toward the edge of the kitchen doorway, peeping out into the corridor to ensure Samirah wasn't anywhere in view. The coast was clear. I whipped out my mobile and dialled Marcus and Desmond on a group call. They picked up on the first ring."I’m in," I whispered fiercely down the line, keeping my eye on the hallway. "I’m currently standing in her bloody kitchen.""No way!" Marcus cackled. "The bastard actually did it.""Listen, mates," I muttered, my voice dropping lower. "I am not going to lie to you. Professor Samirah is fucking beautiful."I bit my tongue, stopping myself from letting slip that I’d just seen her entirely naked. I didn't know why I was keeping it to myself, but the memory alone was having a severe adverse effect—a raging erection currently straining against my pants."Did she suspect anything?" Desmond asked. "Did she recognise you?""I don't think so," I sneered, checking my reflection in the dark kitchen window. "The disguise is solid. I’ve g

Vickerry’s POV"I’m telling you, you lot should have seen the look on the proud Professor Samirah’s face!" I threw my head back, laughing so loud that someone across the courtyard of the university's elite lounge could hear me. I popped the collar of my designer jacket, leaning back into the leather sofa like a king on his throne. "She was absolutely terrified. Completely bamboozled in her own bloody kitchen, clutching that little white towel for dear life."Marcus smirked, swirling the ice in his glass. "So the plumber disguise actually worked? I still can’t believe you dragged a bloody metal toolbox across town just to terrify an Omega.""Worked? It was an absolute masterpiece," I sneered, the memory of her sweet, panicked scent sending a familiar flare through my veins. "She was shaking like a leaf. I gave her exactly twenty-four hours to give me an answer, and trust me, she’s going to say yes to that date. Just watch and you will see."Desmond leaned forward, a cynical brow raised

Vickerry’s POVHeaven knows the stinging sensation in my ribs was nothing compared to the roaring furnace of humiliation burning in my chest. Every step I took across the floor of my penthouse lobby felt like I was walking on broken glass. I could still hear the annoying whispers of the students, the pathetic, smug look on that Omega professor’s face in the VC’s office, and the submissive apology I had been forced to choke out—it was all clawing at my throat, suffocating me.Urghh! I groaned as I rounded the corner toward the private elevators, ready to smash the glass into a thousand pieces, but my boots ground to a sudden halt.Standing by the panoramic windows, his back to me, was my father. Alpha General Havoc Adams. He was clad in his unblemished military regalia, his hands clasped tightly behind his back."Did you really do it?" I demanded, my voice coming out as a harsh, ragged snarl. I stepped forward, wincing as my side flared with agony. "Did you really authorize those fucki
