“Push, Sierra. You have to push.”“I can’t. I’ve been pushing for hours and nothing is happening. Something is wrong. Something is wrong with the baby. Please, you have to get help. You have to bring someone who knows what they’re doing.” the tears were running down my eyes in torrents, and it didn't mirror the pain I was going through right now. This felt like death.“I am the midwife.”“You’re just a chef!!! You told me you’d assisted at three births. You're not a midwife. Call my mate! Call Darius immediately. Tell him to bring the pack doctor! His child is about to be born!" More angry tears streamed down my face. Where was Darius right now? Didn't he know I was in labour? He was supposed to be here with me.“Do you want me to leave? Because I can leave. I can walk out of this tent right now and let you deliver this baby alone on the cold ground with no one to even catch it when it comes out.” the chef who had been assigned to me said coldly, and when I looked up, I saw she meant

The Lycan Princes' palace was exactly as terrifying as the stories were told while we were growing up. Black stones lined everywhere with iron gates, terrifying looking guards, and their height...? I gulped. They were not like the regular wolves. They were all taller, stronger and faster than usual, and here I was, the weakest thing in the werewolf world finding myself in a place that I could be crushed by a Lycan child.I was escorted through corridors that seemed like they were designed to intimidate people, or maybe it was just the fact that I was the smallest but fattest thing here. We went past nobles who raised their brows when I passed, and I knew they were judging. Looking at me, my weight, wondering how I would fit into their world and stand beside their prince as the coming queen. But I wasn't here to take the spotlight. Even if the Lycan Prince treated me like a slave, I was willing to take it all if it meant that I could save Aurora and have Darius punished for his betraya

"Keep your voice low when you speak to me, and do not repeat anything I ask you to anyone else. Do you understand?"The maid nodded quickly, her eyes darting toward the door as if she expected someone to burst through it at any moment. Her name was Elara and she was young, maybe sixteen or less, the maid that was assigned to me throughout my time as Prince Kai's wife."Good. Now tell me about Liriel. Who is she to the prince, and why does she act like everything here belongs to her?" I was really curious to know especially after Kai's cold response yesterday.Elara hesitated for a second before deciding that she would tell me. "Lady Liriel is the daughter of the Alpha King, miss. She and Prince Kairo have known each other since they were children. They grew up together in this palace.""The Alpha King's daughter," I repeated slowly, and the pieces clicked into place. "What else do you know about her?""She's in love with the prince, miss. Everyone in the palace knows it except for him

Liriel Michael"A fat and ugly wolfless omega, that's what she is, Theron!" I was pacing up and down Theron's study. "And you needed to see how your brother defended her. He dismissed me, a woman he has known for more than half of his life, over a woman he just met some weeks ago!""She's his wife." Theron did not look up from the files that were scattered across his table. "You need to come to terms with that before it's too late.""Come to terms?" I almost yelled, my chest burning with so much pain as tears clouded my vision. "I love him, Theron. I love Kai so much. And everything I do... Every time I go all out, it's for him. Why can't he just see it already? Why does he have to accept that kind of woman who isn't even fit for his status?""She was betrothed to him even before he found his mate, Liriel." Theron massaged the space between his brows in frustration. "Look... Why can't you just give up already? Kai only sees you as his sister, and that's what it's ever going to be."Th

Sierra ValliumI got my answer later that evening after feeding Kai his daily herbal broth, and I made sure to prepare myself for the next morning."You want to train with us?" The warrior, whose name I learned was Fenris, stared at me with his mouth hung open. I found out that he was one of Kai's elite and most trusted guard in the estate, and if there was anyone to teach me how to fight and have some form of stamina in saving Aurora, it had to be him."That's what I said." I repeated myself and nodded, looking at the training ground where everyone had stopped training to stare at us in curiosity. I got the fact that everyone was surprised that the Prince's wife wanted to join the warriors in training, but I read their rules and there wasn't any exception to me."This is the Lycan elite training ground, my lady." The corners of his mouth tightened as he tried to respond pleasantly. But I caught his sub. Lycans always believed that werewolves were below them in strength and everything
