Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Day a Free Stroller Cost Me My Marriage: Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 9

Matthew's POVWhen our eyes met, a flicker of surprise crossed my wife Janice Hyde's face, but it quickly disappeared as she regained her composure. She glanced briefly at our son, Timmy Powell, frowning slightly at his tear-streaked face."Did you not take a cab here? How could you be so stingy like this?"She then lifted her chin slightly and said to her assistant, "Nicole, get him into a cab. I just remembered that I have a project to inspect today and I can't give him a ride after all."I was so stunned that my mind had gone blank. I'd just thought of questioning her when her assistant, Nicole Torres, practically dragged me out of the car and into another. The cab door had only just closed when I received a text message from Janice."Go home first. I'll explain later."The last message I'd received from her was just last night, when she'd lovingly texted, "I miss you so much, honey. Working overtime is so tough. I wish I could just come home and cuddle with you."I shakily

Matthew's POVI was knocked to the ground by Saul's blow, and blood instantly gushed from my nose. A flicker of pity crossed Janice's eyes, and she instinctively reached out to help me up.However, Saul draped himself over her and began rubbing his temples, looking unstable on his feet."Darling, I suddenly feel so dizzy… I don't know if my old condition is flaring up again…"Janice's expression changed at once. She threw a stack of hundred-dollar bills in my face before rushing off with him.I gritted my teeth and forced myself to stand. However, when I got back to Timmy's ward, I saw a nurse forcefully removing the IV drip from his hand. Then, she picked him up and brought him to me."All doctors and nurses in the hospital are now being summoned to treat Mr. Hickman's illness. We can't take care of this child anymore."Timmy burst into loud tears. He was still having a high fever, and he'd gotten a great shock from the pain. Seconds later, his body began to convulse."Wait, T

Third-Person POVThe video showed Matthew and Saul being kidnapped. Janice's face turned grim at once as she went all the way to the address the kidnappers specified with Nicole."I've brought the ten million dollars you wanted! Now, release my husband and my child!"The leader of the kidnappers laughed out loud."Oh, Ms. Hyde, don't think we don't know that you have two husbands and two kids. See, we didn't know which one you liked better, so we brought both of them with us."I guess we weren't specific enough in our message to you. You can only save one of them with ten million dollars."It's fine if you only want to save one of them, though. We'll just assume you don't want the other anymore and throw him to the pigs."Janice's face drained of all color at once."I only have ten million dollars available right now…""If you want to save both of them, you have two hours to take one home and grab another ten million for the other," the first kidnapper said. "But if we get tir

Third-Person POVShortly afterward, Nicole arrived at the nearby coffee shop with a stack of documents and handed them over to Janice."Ms. Hyde, it seems that there were no other victims found in the fire other than the two kidnappers," she reported. "Mr. Powell and his son are most probably alright. It's just that there are no CCTV cameras nearby since it's been abandoned for a long time, so nobody knows where they are."We've searched everywhere, but we couldn't find a clue. There are also no other marks or footprints leading outside."Meanwhile, nobody has returned to Mr. Powell's apartment ever since. His personal belongings and official documents are still inside."I even checked all of the train stations, docks, airports, and other means of transport, and there are still no traces of Mr. Powell and his son whatsoever."People can't just disappear without a trace. Come to think of it, that explosion was also quite suspicious. Although the firefighters later confirmed that t

Matthew's POVI hadn't seen Janice in almost a month. And yet, she looked so haggard that I nearly failed to recognize her until she came closer to us.In those years she had pretended to be poor, I always made sure to iron out every wrinkle in her shirts and dresses, and she also never stopped using her makeup and skincare products. However, she looked even more pitiful and haggard now than back then. The moment she saw me, she came up to me with disbelief written in her eyes."Matthew? Is that you? I've been waiting for you for so long! You've finally come back!"Her eyes welled up with tears at once."I was wrong, Matthew. I let you and Timmy down. But I've thought it all through now, and I've realized that nothing is more important to me than you and Timmy!"Did you know that I tore Saul's mask off and exposed him all for your sake? Now, Mom and Dad aren't forcing me to marry him anymore."He got custody of the girl, and I've also aborted his second baby. Timmy is the only
