ROSELYN’S POV"Hey, umm... about earlier, are you okay?" I asked, crunching on some chips and candies as I sat in the living room, watching a horror movie.Nate suddenly showed up and spoke, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t startled. After he left school earlier, I hadn’t seen him, and part of the reason I was glued to the TV was to check if he was all right and when he would come home."Yeah, I’m good. You wanna watch?" I motioned to the movie playing."Yeah, sure. But why are you acting like nothing's wrong?" he asked, cautiously sitting down on the couch."And stress myself even more? No thanks. The moment I gave you one week to think, I decided on everything already. I made my choice. I’m ready for whatever comes next," I said.He seemed like he had more on his mind, but he stayed quiet and settled in to watch the movie with me.Tomorrow is November 1, All Saints' Day, follow

"Leave! You're not allowed to come here!" My uncle, seated at the far end of the couch beneath my bed, spoke with a firm and commanding voice that echoed through the quiet room."I just want to talk to her and see if she's all right!" Nate stood at the open door of the room, struggling to get in, but Athan and Danny were blocking his way."She's still breathing, if that’s what you want to know," Danny stated coldly as he pushed Nate out of the doorway with ease. His usual calm, childish, and jolly demeanour was nowhere to be seen. Instead, he was a picture of fury, like the calm before a storm."Leave before I break that stupid face of yours," Athan said to Nate, his voice as cold as ice.It was clear that he was holding back every ounce of his patience to keep from resorting to violence. I wanted to stop them, but my voice betrayed me, unable to form any words. After I fainted in Danny's arms that day, I woke up in a hospital room with blind

ROSELYN’S POV"Trisha, get the emergency cart and call Dr. Robert!" Susan immediately stood up as one of the room numbers lit up on the wall beside her. Grabbing a stethoscope, she ran toward the room before I could get a glimpse of the number."On it!" Trisha responded, unlocking the emergency cart and following Susan."Everyone, please return to your designated rooms. I repeat, everyone, please return to your designated rooms," Lynzel, one of the nurses, announced, prompting patients to head back while caregivers and other nurses assisted them.Someone whose name was a reminder of Lyn whose just as angelic as she was."Ronald, check every room and make sure there are no dangerous objects. Be thorough this time!" Lynzel instructed Ronald, one of the clinical assistants responsible for ensuring patients didn't have access to sharp or harmful objects. That was the commotion I walked into as I pushed open the door of the

ROSELYN’S POVWith a three-layered cake balanced in my right hand and two large plastic bags full of groceries in the other, I made my way toward Safe Paradise—the psychiatric institution. I struggled to push open the entrance door, using my body weight to keep it ajar while manoeuvring through without ruining the cake or dropping the groceries."Let me give you a hand with that, Rosie."Luckily, Ronald saw my struggle and rushed over, quickly taking the cake from my hands and holding the door open for me."Thank you, Ronald," I said as we walked down the hallway toward the kitchen at the back of the building."Always welcome, Rosie. You're early today," he noted, raising a brow. I usually visited after lunch, so my arrival at this hour was uncommon."Yeah, since it's the institution's anniversary, I decided to come straight here from church so I could cook something special for everyone." I lifted the grocery ba

As I stepped into the restaurant’s kitchen, my co-workers eyed me with teasing smiles, their gazes filled with mischief.Confused, I followed their line of sight and was utterly shocked to find a bouquet of flowers resting on my workstation. The arrangement was a beautiful mix of various blooms, and what surprised me even more was that Athan wasn’t yelling at anyone to remove it—despite the fact that flowers had no place in the kitchen.“Someone must’ve snuck that in when you walked through the door. He probably thought it was a new ingredient,” Athan commented, barely glancing up from his work.“Well, it is an ingredient—an ingredient to nourish my loving heart,” I replied with a smirk as I picked up the bouquet, my fingers searching for a note. The words on the small card sent a wave of warmth through me, bringing an unconscious smile to my lips:A single flower cannot amount to how much you mean
