Lahat ng Kabanata ng My Best Friend's Dad Yearns For Me: Kabanata 91 - Kabanata 100

Rosalie’s POVThe next time I saw Nate was at an evening party thrown by the Kingston’s I was invited to.It was actually thrown for him—a small gathering of family and friends Caleb declared was to welcome his long lost nephew in his welcome address to the nine of us who stood there, added to the two of them on the podium. “He has never been prodigal, but I will still say that my son was lost, but now he is found.”A quick Google search showed me that it was from the Bible, and I smiled at the wit behind it.The address had passed, and I took the liberty to walk about the room. Most of the people here were unknown to me and quite frankly far older, so it made me terribly lonely. The only other young persons around my age was a stocky young man flirting with a taller, pretty redhead, and she appeared so taken by him that they did not notice Adrian, Emily’s boyfriend, staring at them with amusement in his eyes. He seemed to be like me—too out of place to have someone to talk to, so he

Rosalie’s POV“Are you jealous?” I asked him, not wanting to believe.“Of who?”“Nate.”He laughed, touching a hand to the sleek hair drawn backwards in his usual style. “I'm his Uncle, Rosalie.”“That doesn't change anything.”“It does. I'm his uncle and I've been alive for longer than he has. No matter how skilled he is, he cannot outdo me while trying to hold a woman's attention.”I was amused by Caleb, so I decided to tease him.“He has advantages,” I noted.“Which ones?”“Age.”“I'm not old.”“He's younger, which means that he's less likely to die during sex. If anything, he should be more energetic.”“It means nothing,” Caleb said, holding up his glass to his lips. “It does. He's like a younger version of you. He's taller, more muscular, and I have noticed that he looks at everyone like he's in love with them. Even you.”“Pretty boy,” he said again, still a little overly focused on his glass.“Nobody exactly wants to fuck a dude who is far too interested in what he thinks mascu

Caleb's POV The atmosphere between Rosalie and I was strained after that.I cannot remember how it all began—maybe it was the fact that I walked out on her crying without caring for the tears she shed, which I admit was done more out of my own shame than anything else, or it was the distance she gave me at work the following day, and how cold she seemed when she came into my office, but neither of us talked to the other for a long time.In that time, the things between us were as they should be.Things passed quite amicably between us in that time at work. She came into my office several times, but only as an intern, as the intern she was. I did not miss how she focused on calling me Mr. Kingston, although I bothered about if it was her own way of calling it quits, or a subtle mockery of me. And I remember that it felt like torment to me.Many times I picked up my phone to call her, to write some text or invite her to some dinner just to have the both of us talking again, but my ego

Caleb's POV.“I mean… what are you really here for, BonBon?” I asked, reverting to a sweet name I gave her. “You didn't come here all the way just for shares?”“And what if I did come for just that?” She asked. “Are you trying to say that I'm a whore? That I'm only useful when you want sex and not business? Is that why you haven't been contacting me recently, Caleb Kingston?”She said my name like something she longed to spit out.“If I contact you for only sex, does that not make me a whore too?” Her eyes sparkled with a wicked glint.“You know how to say the right things. That's why I like you.”“I'll sell the shares to you at the price you want, because of our friendship, and as a way of asking for your forgiveness. You sound pretty mad at me.”“That's why I came here to you. I knew you would do the right thing. I also need a way to say thank you to you, the way we used to back then.”She was finally revealing her true intentions.“Words are enough,” I grinned.“Oh stop it. I was

Rosalie's POVHe touched two of his fingers to his face and then looked at it.“Does that make you feel any better?” He asked, looking back at me with amusement on his face.I clenched my fists by my side and launched another one, but it was less successful and rather dribbled down the side of his chassis as he burst into laughter. Now angry, I launched a third one that never even went far.“I know you to be many good things, Rosa, but I don't think I ever saw the llama side,” he answered, staring at the wet pudding on the ground. “Would you leave me alone,” I roared, now feeling stupid. That somehow made everything even worse, because I could feel passing eyes looking at us.“No. Now get in the car. We've put on enough of a show already.”“I'm not going anywhere with you,” I snapped, low enough for him to hear.He nodded, and then drove off.I was genuinely surprised that he did, and it crushed something inside of me as I continued to walk on the street, watching cars pick up those
