《Go Ahead, Expel Me》全部章節：第 1 章 - 第 10 章

"Your behavior is ruining the air of hard work! You must be punished!"He jabbed a finger in my face. "You're giving me a 5,000-word reflection! I want to see it in my office by tomorrow morning, and you're not going to go to bed until you finish it!"The bell rang, and everyone started packing up. I slowly bent over and picked up the scrap metal.Leslie went by me. There was a smirk on his face, apparently gleeful about my predicament. He said softly, "Some people think too highly about themselves."I ignored him and went back to my seat, then took out two pieces of blank paper. As if that man was worth wasting my time writing a reflection for.I wrote my so-called reflection on the first paper, and a string of numbers on the second. It was already lights out for the dorms. I snuck out quietly and folded the first paper, then slid it through the crack under George's office door.I sent the second to the headmaster's office.…The next morning, I walked into the classroom, im

His eyes swept across the crowd like a searchlight, and they fell on me."Some of you flout discipline and rules just because they think they're smart. Here's a word of advice: it's not easy being number one. Sooner or later, someone will replace you!"Discussion spread among the crowd, and all eyes fell on me. George loved how this was playing out, and he announced, "And now, our brilliant student and valedictorian runner-up, Leslie Zimmer, will be giving his speech."Leslie straightened his uniform and strutted up the stage before taking the mic. He adjusted his thick glasses, scanned the crowd, and looked at me with disdain."There's no shortcut when it comes to studying. You work for every mark on your paper. The people who think they're above the rules just because they know a trick or two is an insult to the people who've worked hard. The real fight, a fair fight, is just beginning!"Thunderous applause followed. I watched this D-rate show dispassionately. Once the pep talk

For the first time, George noticed that the respect he once commanded had turned into something cold, unfamiliar, and even filled with resentment.Fear he had never felt before consumed him, encasing him in a frozen coffin. After my departure, the seemingly invincible Peak High began to crumble, and the first cracks came from my former class. No matter what I did, playing games or reading extracurricular books, the other students always felt calm. The sounds of flipping pages and pen against paper were clear, loud, and almost felt like a steady stream. They knew that as long as I was here, the sky was the limit. Now, George had pushed away the one thing that kept them calm.Even the teachers were affected by it. When they hit a snag, they wanted to call my name, but they swallowed it whole.…The atmosphere was awkward. Once classes were over, the usual crowd gathered around my desk, discussing questions with me, was nowhere to be seen.Instead, only depressing silence and qu

Yves and the others thought I was just a genius high schooler who only knew theory, but during our first meeting, I derived the key formula that'd stumped them for three months in thirty minutes. That erased any doubts they had for me.Yves held the papers that were filled with my deduction like it was the Holy Bible. He kept muttering, "Genius. This is genius. It's incredible, the way he thinks…"Harold and Linda quickly started building the physical model and simulating the data according to my theory. There was no noise about fairness here, nor was there any jealousy like Leslie had for me. There was no calculating from John either. All I had to do was think and push my mental abilities to their limits. Our progress jumped by leaps and bounds. …A month later, our first phase was done, and Yves' trembling hands were holding the report. "I think we might actually be changing things, Finn."He insisted that I submit this thesis to an IPhO-affiliated magazine. I was fine eith

A few days later, I got a text from an unknown number. "Congrats, Finn. And I got into Southern U, thanks."It was from Ivory. I congratulated her and turned my phone off. She was a smart girl, and Peak High's chaos didn't get to her. She firmly secured her own future.I saw Leslie's name in a local newspaper's education section's corner. He only scored enough to get into a mediocre university. He was a nobody in this war for the top scorer spot. The fire he fueled with his jealousy and obsession ended up consuming only him.Samuel held a big celebration for me, and all the influential figures in the city attended. I was the center of the crowd, dealing with all the praises, congratulatory words, and people who wanted to talk to me.When the celebration got to its high point, a small commotion happened at the entrance. I looked up and saw John coming in with another person. He was hunched over, his hair grayed, wearing a faded, worn-out jacket. He was a stark contrast against
