At noon, he brought two portions of pasta. He slipped into the break room and shoved one to me."Vittoria, just hang in there. These guys are out of their minds.""It's nothing. I'm treating it like a paid vacation.""Where are you planning to go after you leave?""You just focus on keeping your head down. Don't ask too many questions."He hesitated for a second before lowering his voice."Carlotta put together a five-man team. They're planning to forcibly take over the core database. They said they'll spend two weeks cracking your core plans.""Let her.""But Vittoria, the clauses you designed are a maze. Without you walking them through it, they won't even...""Leo.""Yeah?""That's long past being my problem."He froze for a second, then nodded knowingly.A few days later, Jason, the outside lawyer Carlotta had hired, approached me privately. He pulled up a chair and sat down next to me."Vittoria, can I take a bit of your time?
