Which Lauren Blakely Book Starts Each Interconnected Series Timeline?
As a huge fan of her contemporary romance novels, I'm trying to get the reading order right across all her linked standalone series. Which title kicks off the whole universe?

The beauty of these interconnected books is that they reward long-term readers. You don't need to start at the beginning, but if you do, those little moments of recognition five books later are so satisfying. And for that, yeah, start with 'Big Rock' or 'Sweet Sinful Nights.' I'd lean 'Big Rock' because it's a smoother, more inviting read for someone new to her style.

After reading nearly everything she's written, my take is this: the interconnected timeline is more about character generations and friend groups than a single plot. 'Sweet Sinful Nights' features an older couple, and their world connects to the younger Mayson generation later. So if you want the earliest chronological events, start there. If you want the book that feels like the 'home base' for the most characters, start with 'Big Rock'. Neither is wrong.

The 'Big' series is literally named that because it's the big, foundational one. It's not subtle! 'Big Rock,' 'Big Easy,' 'Big Score'... they're telling you this is the major starting point.

From a sheer numbers perspective, more series directly spin off from 'Big Rock' than from any other single book. The Mayson brothers, their cousins, their business partners—it's a vast network. 'Sweet Sinful Nights' connects to it, but it's more of a side branch that merges with the main trunk. If your goal is to understand the core of the interconnected world, the Mayson network is the core, and 'Big Rock' is its source.

"The day you realize you made a mistake it will be too late," I tell him emotionless as I walked to the door just as I was about to step out I feel someone grabbing my arm hard making me whimper, "Why would I want someone as disgusting, ugly as you again? Honestly, the 'series' label is a bit misleading. They're more like loosely linked standalones set in the same world. You could pick based on trope—office romance, friends to lovers, etc. I bounced from 'The Hot One' to 'The Playboy Project' with zero issues. The only tiny link I noticed was a shared location or a friend-of-a-friend mention. It's not like you need a spreadsheet.
Is there an official app or something for tracking this? I need someone to make a 'Lauren Blakely Cinematic Universe' tracker, like those Marvel timeline websites. Until then, I'm scribbling notes on a sticky note. It's a mess, but a charming mess.
I find that the 'Happy Endings' series is a great cluster to read together. They're strongly interconnected. Once you finish those, you'll have a solid core group of characters that pop up elsewhere, giving you a reference frame for the wider world.
Does it even matter? The HEA is guaranteed in each book. You're here for the journey, not a complex lore timeline. Pick one with a premise that makes you smile.
The translations of her books in other languages sometimes have different publication orders! I found this out when a friend in France was reading them in a different sequence based on what was available there. It blew my mind that the 'official' order could vary by market. So really, there's no universal truth. The stories are resilient enough to withstand different pathways around the globe.
The series order question comes up a lot in cozy mystery groups. Beyond the Page Book 1 = 'Murder by the Book'. Full stop. What's interesting is how the author uses book history as the murder weapon in the first one—it's quite clever. I won't spoil it, but it involves a rare book and its potentially deadly provenance.
Addie's expertise feels authentic, which isn't always the case in occupational cozies. You get the sense Elliott did her research on antiquarian bookselling. That layer of detail elevates it slightly above the standard 'baker solves murder' template.
This is super helpful. So the gist is: for the full historical narrative, start with Titan. For the intended audience introduction to the world, start with Covenant. Both are correct, just different experiences.
Absolutely begin with 'Pines.' The sequels are direct continuations, picking up literally minutes after the previous book ends in some cases. There’s no narrative gap; it’s one continuous, frantic story.
