What's your tolerance for mild spoilers? If you hate even knowing that two side characters end up together, then strict series order is a must. If you don't mind that kind of thing, then it truly doesn't matter. The 'spoilers' in these books are usually just confirming that everyone gets a happy ending, which is a given in the genre. So ask yourself how precious you are about narrative surprises before you stress over the perfect sequence.

I borrowed whatever was available from my library's digital app, which meant my order was completely dictated by hold times. I read 'The Epic One' before 'The Virgin One' because it became available first. It was fine! The books are written with enough context that you're never truly adrift. It taught me to be a more flexible reader. Let library availability be your schedule—it's free and removes all decision fatigue.

Here's a controversial opinion: start with her later works. Her writing in something like 'Smoking Summer' feels more polished and the pacing is tighter than in some earlier titles. If you start with the strongest entries, you might become a superfan willing to go back to the earlier, rougher-around-the-edges books. If you start with an older one that feels dated, you might give up on her altogether. Go for the gold first.

My rule of thumb for any prolific author: read the first book that made them big, then branch out. For Blakely, many would say that's 'Big Rock'. It captured a wide audience for a reason. After that, you'll know if you love her voice enough to read a dozen more, and you can then explore her other series from a place of fandom rather than curiosity.

I rate them as I go on Goodreads. Looking back, my ratings are slightly higher for the ones I read in loose series order, probably because I appreciated the cameos and ongoing jokes. It wasn't a huge difference, but it was noticeable. The sense of being 'in the know' added an extra half-star of enjoyment. So if you're someone who really values that community feeling, order might subtly boost your personal rating.

Carolina Alves
I came to America to write love stories, but my inspiration’s been running on empty. Then I followed an orange kitten onto the subway, through a strange neighborhood, and straight into the arms of a firefighter. Ace Rosario is steady, strong, and just a little sarcastic—and suddenly, I can’t stop writing again. The only question is… am I falling for my muse, or for the man himself?
Ace Rosario
Oldest sibling, last to get my act together. My family’s always seen me as the drifter, never the responsible one. But I’m determined to prove myself as a firefighter—and the last thing I expected was for Carolina Alves to tumble into my life with her wild hair, her Portuguese rambling, and my mischievous kitten, Goose, in tow. She makes me think love might be the one risk worth taking.
The Purrfect Love Story is the heartfelt, playful conclusion to the Ravenwood Series. While it can be read as a standalone, Ace recommends checking out his siblings’ stories first—Man’s Best Wingman, A Bark in the Park, and The Purrfect Wingman—before diving into his own.

He shouldn’t have imagined her lying naked on his bed. She shouldn’t have imagined his devilishly handsome face between her legs.
But it was too late.
Kiara began noticing Ethan's washboard abs when he hopped out of the pool, dripping wet after swim practice. Ethan began gazing at Kiara’s golden skin in a bikini as a grown woman instead of the girl next door he grew up with.
That kiss should have never happened.
It was just one moment in a lifetime of moments, but they both felt its power. They knew the thrumming in their veins and desperation in their bodies might give them all they ever wanted or ruin everything if they followed it.
Kiara and Ethan knew they should have never kissed. But it's too late to take that choice back, so they have a new one to make.
Fall for each other and risk their friendship or try to forget one little kiss that might change everything.
PREVIEW:
“If you don’t want to kiss me then... let’s swim.”
“Yeah, sure.”
“Naked.”
“What?”
“I always wanted to try skinny dipping. And I really want to get out of these clothes.”
“What if someone catches you... me, both?”
“We will be in the pool, Ethan. And no one can see us from the living room.” I smirked when I said, “Unless you want to watch me while I swim, you can stay here.”
His eyes darkened, and he looked away, probably thinking the same when I noticed red blush creeping up his neck and making his ears and cheeks flush. Cute.
“Come on, Ethan. Don’t be a chicken...”
“Fine.”
His voice was rough when he said, “Remove that sweater first.”

Does it even matter? The HEA is guaranteed in each book. You're here for the journey, not a complex lore timeline. Pick one with a premise that makes you smile.
Honestly, the 'series' label is a bit misleading. They're more like loosely linked standalones set in the same world. You could pick based on trope—office romance, friends to lovers, etc. I bounced from 'The Hot One' to 'The Playboy Project' with zero issues. The only tiny link I noticed was a shared location or a friend-of-a-friend mention. It's not like you need a spreadsheet.
Is there an official app or something for tracking this? I need someone to make a 'Lauren Blakely Cinematic Universe' tracker, like those Marvel timeline websites. Until then, I'm scribbling notes on a sticky note. It's a mess, but a charming mess.
I find that the 'Happy Endings' series is a great cluster to read together. They're strongly interconnected. Once you finish those, you'll have a solid core group of characters that pop up elsewhere, giving you a reference frame for the wider world.
From a sheer numbers perspective, more series directly spin off from 'Big Rock' than from any other single book. The Mayson brothers, their cousins, their business partners—it's a vast network. 'Sweet Sinful Nights' connects to it, but it's more of a side branch that merges with the main trunk. If your goal is to understand the core of the interconnected world, the Mayson network is the core, and 'Big Rock' is its source.
Oh, interesting question! I’ve only read a couple, so I’m not the best person to give a full roadmap. Which ones have you heard good things about? I might just lurk here to see what others suggest for my own list.
I loved the first book, hated the second, and adored the third. It was a rollercoaster. So my biased order suggestion is: 1. 'The Devil Wears Prada' (for the essential experience). 2. 'When Life Gives You Lululemons' (for a hilarious, uplifting follow-up). 3. 'Revenge Wears Prada' (if you're a completionist and want to see how it all officially ends, but brace yourself). This order salvages the fun of the series after the original.
