Which Movesets Best Suit A Gardevoir Male In Competitive Play?

I usually think of Gardevoir in three quick archetypes: Specs nuke, Scarf revenge, and Calm Mind setup. For a no-nonsense Specs set I pick Timid, 252 SpA / 252 Spe, Choice Specs, and the moves Psychic/Psyshock, Moonblast, Focus Blast, and Thunderbolt or Shadow Ball. That covers most matchups and hits absurdly hard. Scarf is the same idea but swaps Specs for Choice Scarf to outspeed threats and pick off weakened foes.

Moves are Calm Mind, Moonblast, Psyshock (to hit physically bulky Pokemon), and Substitute or Taunt depending on the opponent. Life Orb is a fun middle ground if you want to keep pressure without locking into a move. For doubles and VGC-style play, Protect + Hyper Voice (on Mega) or Protect + Follow Me support combos are where Gardevoir shines — and don’t underestimate Trick on Choice users to cripple a bulky pivot.

One small practical note about gender: being male doesn’t change Gardevoir’s movepool, but it can matter for Attract shenanigans or team flavor.
