The Divine Undertaker

The Divine Undertaker

It was in the Era of Harmony, trillions of years ago, when Chaos first arrived. To stop all existence from growing rampantly and exhausting all sustenance, the Creator of the universe took on Chaos as its body, the void as its vigor, and black holes as its jaw—a combination to create a world-ending coffin, devouring the seas and setting lands aflame, reducing all to ashes! Later, millions of years ago, the gods waged wars against each other when the same coffin appeared out of nowhere, massacring their ranks and decimating the divine realm. Since then, it had gone missing, but its name continued to echo throughout the universe, leaving both gods and demons in fear! Millions of years later, a youth was buried alive and fused with the coffin where he was kept, and he became an undertaker whose name was heard throughout all worlds. "I'm really bad at saving lives, but I'm quite good with ending them," he said quietly with a cool visage. "I possess the Coffin of the Gods, and I can send anything and anyone to their deaths: humans, worlds… or even the gods themselves!"

At the age of 8, the narrator shows the final moments before Ashton's princely training truly begins, bringing any childhood experiences to a halt. After a brief brush with an icy death, he spends his final free moments in front of the family fireplace. We skip time to the age of 18, Ashton training with his personal guard and close friend Matt (28). This was the day his father and current king was to sign another peace treaty with the King of Hell. Out of curiosity he took a peak at the demon king and came to find Damien Umbra (23-28) sultry, charismatic and flirty king of Hell. They did not officially meet at this time despite locking eyes as the demon laid an ominous future on the angel king. Very soon the prince would take the throne. After a second encounter with the demon king that resulted in heavy flirting, much to the new kings surprise, they had not met again for weeks. A single gift led the king to make a secret visit to Hell to interrogate the other king. During this visit Damien plays off his interest in the angel as only a fun game. Who is the author of Metal from Heaven?

Metal from Heaven' is actually a lesser-known gem in the sci-fi world, and I stumbled upon it while digging through indie bookstores. The author is Liu Cixin, who's more famous for 'The Three-Body Problem,' but this earlier work has this raw, experimental energy that really stuck with me. It blends cosmic horror with industrial grit—totally different from his later polished style, but you can see the seeds of his obsession with scale and human fragility. I love how it feels like a fever dream, all smog-choked cities and eerie celestial phenomena. If you're into atmospheric, philosophical sci-fi, it's worth tracking down, though it's not as widely translated as his other stuff.

Funny enough, I first heard about it from a niche forum where fans were debating whether it predicted some of the themes in his later work. The prose is rougher, but there's something haunting about it—like a prototype for his grander ideas. It's wild how artists evolve, right?

Where can I read Metal from Heaven online for free?

Man, I totally get the urge to dive into 'Metal from Heaven'—it’s got that gritty, surreal vibe that hooks you right from the first chapter. Sadly, I haven’t stumbled across any legit free sources for it online. Most manga sites that claim to have it are sketchy at best, packed with pop-ups or questionable uploads. I’d recommend checking out official platforms like ComiXology or Manga Plus, which often have free trial periods or rotating selections.

If you’re really strapped for cash, libraries sometimes carry digital versions through apps like Hoopla. It’s not instant gratification, but supporting the creators keeps more awesome stories like this coming. Plus, hunting down physical copies can be part of the fun—I found volume 2 at a used bookstore last year and nearly screamed in the aisle.

What is the plot of Metal from Heaven novel?

The novel 'Metal from Heaven' is this wild fusion of sci-fi and mythology that hooked me from the first chapter. It follows a group of archaeologists who uncover an ancient metallic artifact buried deep in the Andes—except it’s not man-made. The thing pulses with energy, and when they activate it, they accidentally summon a celestial being trapped inside. Turns out, it’s a fallen star entity that once ruled a forgotten pantheon, and now it’s pissed. The story splits into two arcs: one faction wants to harness its power for humanity’s sake, while another believes it’s a harbinger of extinction. The moral ambiguity here is chefs kiss—it made me question whether progress is worth the cost.

What’s brilliant is how the author weaves Incan cosmology into the tech aspects. The entity communicates through riddles rooted in Quechua oral traditions, and there’s a whole subplot about a modern-day shaman trying to interpret its warnings. The climax isn’t your typical good vs. evil showdown; instead, the characters have to negotiate with this godlike force, offering sacrifices (both literal and emotional) to prevent an apocalypse. I finished it in two sittings—couldn’t put it down.

Are there any sequels to Metal from Heaven?

Metal from Heaven' totally caught me off guard when I first stumbled upon it—its blend of gritty cyberpunk aesthetics with that raw, almost poetic storytelling style left a lasting impression. I've scoured forums, wikis, and even niche fan sites, but there's no official sequel announced yet. Rumor has it the creator hinted at expanding the universe in a livestream last year, but nothing concrete. The fandom's buzzing with theories, though—some think the cryptic ending of the original was setting up a spin-off, while others argue it was meant to stand alone. Personally, I'd kill for a follow-up exploring the side characters' backstories, like that enigmatic hacker with the neon tattoos.

Until then, I've been filling the void with similar titles like 'Neon Eclipse' and 'Ghost Drifters', which scratch that same itch. It's funny how one story can send you down a rabbit hole of discovering others. If a sequel ever drops, you bet I'll be first in line—coffee in one hand, hype in the other.

Is Metal from Heaven available as a PDF novel?

I went down a rabbit hole trying to find 'Metal from Heaven' in PDF form because the premise sounded so intriguing—something about a celestial war waged with forged divine weapons? Sounds like my kind of epic. After scouring forums and niche book sites, I hit a dead end. No legit PDFs popped up, which makes me think it might be one of those underground cult novels that never got a digital release. I did stumble on a few fan-translated snippets on obscure blogs, though—enough to tease the vibe but not the full experience. Maybe it’s one of those rare gems you have to hunt for in used bookstores.

Honestly, the mystery around it kind of adds to the appeal. If anyone’s got a lead on where to read it, I’d trade my favorite 'Berserk' volume for the info. Till then, I’ll keep dreaming about those sky-bound blacksmiths.

Where can I buy 'Fire from Heaven' online?

I’ve been obsessed with Mary Renault’s 'Fire from Heaven' ever since I stumbled upon it in a used bookstore years ago. If you’re looking to buy it online, you’ve got plenty of options. Major retailers like Amazon and Barnes & Noble always have it in stock, both as a paperback and an e-book. Amazon’s Kindle version is particularly convenient if you’re like me and devour historical fiction in one sitting. For those who prefer supporting smaller businesses, independent bookstores often list their inventory on platforms like Bookshop.org, which is a fantastic way to shop ethically without leaving your couch.

If you’re after something special, like a first edition or a signed copy, eBay and AbeBooks are treasure troves for rare finds. I once snagged a 1969 hardcover with yellowed pages and a faint library stamp—it felt like holding history. Don’t overlook thrift stores’ online sections either; ThriftBooks and Better World Books frequently have lightly used copies for a fraction of the price. Audiobook lovers can check Audible or Libro.fm, though Renault’s prose is so rich, I’d recommend reading it first to savor every metaphor. Just a heads-up: prices can fluctuate, so set up a price alert if you’re budget-conscious. Happy hunting—this novel deserves a spot on your shelf!
