I silently shone my phone's flashlight downward. The light shone on the pink bunny slippers under my bed. They were right where I remembered them to be. The Leah who stood before me was barefoot. How creepy. There was a Leah who could easily move in the dark, but there was also another Leah who was supposed to be wearing her slippers and had night blindness. One of them had flawless skin, while the other had a wound on their face. An absurd thought entered my head, but it was the only explanation that made sense. They were two different people!

I breathe out. She doesn't say anything, just caresses my face, deepens the kiss, I pick her up, needing to feel anything but heartbreak…perfect distraction.
