My eyes traced from the gore of the creature’s demise to the imagery of Taino with his back to me and knife held at the ready. Then I groaned as I saw more of the huge monsters appear, but they seemed oddly docile in manner and looking at Taino they ducked their heads up and down submissively. The fingers of Taino’s empty hand beckoned me and scrambling up off the rocks I rushed up behind him.
