I also knew that she didn't make idle remarks, especially regarding people's lives. “Who’s the crazy old bat?” Aisha asked Colin, as if it were his fault. Aisha had the strongest personality among the four of us. She’s also the most eye-catching--at six-foot-one, with smooth chocolate skin and doll-like features, her dyed pink hair artfully braided down her back with dark-red flowers the same shade as her skin-tight dress, she embodied the title ‘top model’. No one would mistake her for anything less. Bea stepped forward protectively, "What do you mean by that?" she demanded. "Are you saying Alisa is in danger?"

"I'll just meet their driver and send him to their parents" Riot smiled in agreement and we both throttled toward the cars that had now opened and the first kid to come out was a girl from the car in the middle. Riot pulled my arm again. "Mommy. That's Aisha. She said her daddy is an alpha and she's very proud" I nodded joting his observation to my memory even though they wouldn't be useful later. But just to make him satisfied. We waited until Aisha passed with her nanny, eyeing Riot dangerously, and bowed her head slightly to greet me.

Liana replied with naturalness and a smile on her face, and that just highlighted how unreasonable Aisha was being. "That's why I hate you!" Aisha's eyes were burning with anger, they flashed wildly as she said. "Don't worry, I have a plan ready to destroy you. Do you want to know what it is?" Compared to her, Liana was always graceful and elegant. "Not me, but tell me!" Liana replied waiting for her next move. Aisha suddenly hugged Liana, however, in the middle of the move, she stopped, hugged her belly and started talking loudly.

I looked over at her and she pulled her hand back. “It’ll be all right Astraia. The Iron Claws clan is a clan of warriors. They haven’t lost a battle in decades.” I sighed heavily. “But they’re outnumbered Naremi…” It was her turn to sigh. “I know it looks bad, but trust me they’ll be fine.” She smiled at me then but the smile didn’t reach her eyes.

After shedding off her standoff-ish skin, Aisha begged Ursa to stop calling her Princess, knowing that it was only being used to mock her. “I can show you! I can prove myself! What are you doing today? We can head down to the training grounds for the knights-- I’ll show you what I’ve got!” Aisha’s change in demeanor gave Ursa whiplash, but she was slowly becoming accustomed to it. The girl was still young and a slave to her emotions, as most teenagers were. A couple of mood swings didn’t hurt anyone, just left them dazed and confused.

It is the culmination of the past, and they perfectly managed to protect it to the present. Asha felt gratified at seeing the amazed looks of the group. It only means that the awesome clan that she have always felt proud of could be appreciated by the individuals that are now her closest friends, comrades and family. Priestess Eva smiled in turn at the joy she felt from Asha’s aura. She also felt the same pride from the bottom of her soul when her clan was viewed by such admiring eyes. Who does not want their clan to be looked up to by the masses?

My knees hit the red-stained snow, and the world began to tilt. Kael caught me before I hit the ground. He pulled me against his chest, his blood soaking into my dress, his heart thudding against mine. He didn't look at the carnage. He didn't look at his pack. He just looked at me. "You broke the cuffs," he whispered, his voice thick with awe and terror. "I had to," I rasped, my vision blurring. "I couldn't let him take you." He pressed his forehead to mine, his scent of pine and steel the only thing keeping me conscious. "The Council will never let you stay now, Asha. They saw what you are. They saw the fire."

“I admired you from afar. I admired how you chose compassion even when the pack didn’t deserve it. How you made Crimson Claw prosper without cruelty.” She swallowed. “Because I knew my lineage… and because I hated how the Riggs family, especially Alpha Elliot, treated you, I kept my distance. I didn’t want my blood to stain your name.” Aria’s eyes shimmered. “But if I am given the chance,” Aisha said quietly, “I would like to learn from you. Truly.” My chest tightened. “So no,” Aisha continued, lifting her chin. “I will not turn my back on my pack. I accept my bloodline. Not out of obligation, but with hope.”
