Novel & Cerita Best Philosophy Novels

I didn't know Logan was into philosophy but then again, I didn't really know much about him. I knew I shouldn't be snooping around but the arrangements of the books and the study itself felt like I had walked into a classic library and I was tempted to explore. I got to his table and picked up a book from it. Unlike the others, this one wasn't about philosophy but an actual novel. “The Beginning Of The End.” I read the title and got curious as to what kind of book it was but then I decided to respect his privacy and put it back but the book slipped and fell on the floor in my attempt to do so.

“Sometimes I shelve by conversation instead of alphabet. Alphabet is for finding. This is for discovering.” Delphine turned and looked at her. “You rearrange when you get new stock.” “When the new stock changes the conversation. Yes.” “What changed when my second novel came in?” Sera looked at the shelf. “I moved it next to Penelope Fitzgerald. They’re both writing about people who are smarter than their circumstances but too polite to say so.” Delphine turned back to the shelf and studied the books. “I’ve never thought of it that way,” she said. “Have you read Fitzgerald?”

Glancing back to the photo, I gasped, “You’re Marcus Aurelius? No, no, no, it can’t be him.” I refused to believe that the Blood Eagle King was Marcus Aurelius. I read so much about him. He was the last great ruler when Rome was in its Golden Age. I went to the bookshelf on my left. The books were mostly about Romans. There were different ones like Sun Tzu’s Art of War and Machiavelli’s The Prince. There was also a book, Meditations, written by Marcus Aurelius himself. “I could really use your wisdom for my crappy life.”

There is a book I used to read. The title: Sofie's World, by Jostein Gaarder. About philosophy and really good. Even it is about philosophy, the delivery is light and easy to understand. This book has been translated into Indonesian, but this one is in English. This is better. Sometimes the translation changes the capture, even if slightly. I want to read it again, for brain stormings that have been frozen for a long time due to daily matters. "Do you like reading a book?!"

I like taking my time, that way, I can get used to the idea of living with Xander. Sitting behind the counter in the bookstore, I listen to Vincent talking to his cars while I place an order for new books. One of those books is The Art of War by Sun Tsu. I want to read it and see why Alexei loves it so much. My thoughts turn to the BBQ, and I must admit, I enjoyed it a lot. And Rosemarie was right. Everyone seemed pretty normal. I don’t know what I expected. Maybe guns and men smoking cigars while plotting the end of the world?

Damn. I ignore that thought. I'm safe here for now and Noah is not an asshole like I thought he was so no need to do anything irrational. I wonder how one could be so wealthy and good-looking but yet he has no one he loves that's just so lonely. I've never met anyone like him. Even if he isn't I love, how does he get off steam? I proceeded to study to explore awesome books. The books below are just philosophers' books. I'm in no mood for philosophy today, above that are literary books. I'm in no mood for that either. I climb the ladder to get up where I see books of mythology and fictional books.

Some of them read multiple times judging by the cracking of the binding. History. Military strategy. Economics. Law. Psychology. Philosophy. One entire shelf of biographies of powerful men across different centuries and continents. And then something that surprised me. Fiction. A whole section of it tucked into the far corner like something private. Novels. Some of them old enough that the titles had faded. I pulled one out carefully. A Russian novel. Thick. Dense. The kind of book that required patience and silence and the willingness to sit inside discomfort for extended periods.

"Mind if I look at what you´ve bought?" She pushes her bags towards him, James working his way through her book stack, raising eyebrows at some of her choices, muttering to himself as he does so. "´Modern Cosmology and Philosophy´, ´The Chronicles of Narnia´, ´The Mythology of the Ancient Greeks´, Asimov´s ´The Gods Themselves´, ´Fundamentals of Physics: Mechanics, Relativity, and Thermodynamics´, ´The Complete Sherlock Holmes´, Lovelock´s ´Gaia´, ´Pride and Prejudice´... An eclectic mix. Have you considered specialising?" He is laughing quietly, despite the implied criticism. "Specialisation is for insects," she sniffs.
