“Stop chortling, Mirabel. This isn’t funny,” Gabe snapped, gripping the edge of the table so hard his knuckles turned white. Mirabel leaned back, unfazed, as she waved a lazy hand. “Ohhh, calm down, pretty boy. You really should stop hiding behind that cap of yours. You’ve got a cute face, you know?” she slurred, tapping his nose playfully. Gabe ignored her flirtation, his tone hard. “Who told you to leave Lucas?”

"Call Raven down here. Let me beg him myself. He’ll understand. Please! I don't know what went wrong, I don't even remember what happened.” “Claiming memory loss?” I let out a sharp, dry breath, the sound cutting through her frantic weeping. "That's the best you've got?" Mirabel flinched, pulling her arms tight against her chest as the chains clinked miserably. "I'm not lying, I swear to you! One minute I was talking to Raven, and the next... it’s just black. I don't remember taking him. I don't remember anything after he opened the letter!”

Even Mirabel blushed from shyness as she bent her head and looked downward to avoid eye contact. 'Why do I always get this butterfly effect whenever I stare at his eyes? Is this love? But I haven't known him for more than a day' She thought. "Okay, should we go buy some road snacks or stand here all day? Trust me I wouldn't mind looking at this gorgeous lady all day." Oliver asked with a wink, forcing Mirabel to once again look away as her cheeks turned red from blushing. As they walked down the street, Oliver suddenly stopped and turned to Mirabel. "Wait a minute," he said. "Have you eaten yet?"

Elizabeth tells Mirabel. "That's really nice. I hope to meet your best friend. I also hope to have one of my own in the future." She whispered the last part more to herself but Elizabeth heard her. Elizabeth moved closer to Mirabel and she wrapped her arms around her shoulder. "You will definitely have one of your own dear. I mean you could find one in me, who knows?" She shrugged. Mirabel smiled. This has got to be the longest conversation she ever had with anyone besides her brother, she thought to herself.

“I’m not interested in playing your games, Mirabel.” Mirabel smirked, her green eyes gleaming with cruelty. “Oh, but you are. You just don’t know it yet.” Before Lucy could respond, Mirabel leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a whisper. “William may tolerate you for now, but he doesn’t love you. He never will.” With that, Mirabel straightened up and walked away, leaving Lucy standing there, her hands shaking with the effort it took to keep herself composed. --- That evening, as Lucy prepared for the event, she couldn’t shake the heaviness that hung over her like a storm cloud. William’s harsh words, combined with Mirabel’s cruel taunts, left her feeling more isolated than ever.

she unexpectedly blabbered out all the questions she had in her mind. Axel turned to look in her direction "You won't mind if I sleep on the bed?" he asked, he was definitely heading somewhere with that question "Why would I mind, I have no problem with that at all," Mirabel said out loud before she realized that she had said too much. Her hands flew to cover her mouth, why are you talking too much this night? Have you forgotten how he acted yesterday when he aggressively kissed you? when did you even become so comfortable with him? Those were the rhetorical questions that kept on reigning in her mind

Giveon teased and Mirabel covered her face with the duvet. "Leave me alone!" She grumbled under the bed. "Are you sure about that though? You just signed a forever deal with me yesterday. Are you going back on your words already?" Giveon grinned as he teased Miranel and she rolled her eyes at how dramatic he was. "It's not too late, is it?" Mirabel asked and Giveon pulled the duvet away from her body. "Unfortunately, you are stuck with me forever," he kissed her lips and she responded immediately.
