Reclaiming Aria
“I’ll pay for it. We need to go all out for this thing, Aria.”
The shopkeeper, a cheerful older woman, steps forward, ready to take the dress. As they head to the counter, the door swings open, and in walks Mason’s secretary, Kristen. She’s wearing a professional black skirt and blouse combo, her heels clicking loudly on the floor. Her eyes flick over to Mason and Aria, a flicker of something unreadable crossing her face before she smiles tightly.
“Oh, Mason,” Kristen says, her voice almost too sweet. “I didn’t expect to see you here.” She looks at Aria, then back at Mason. “You really do have excellent taste. A beautiful choice for the fundraiser.”
