"That's Blackwood's driver," she said. "I saw him at the Plaza yesterday. He was waiting outside with their car." "Not just his driver," Lorenzo corrected, pulling up more information. "Former military, a demolitions expert, currently employed by Blackwood Security, a private firm owned by, surprise, Thomas Blackwood."

“And because they mentioned your name.” My fingers twitched, silver light sparking instinctively. “And you are?” I asked coldly. He inclined his head, just barely. Respect without submission. Dangerous. “Alpha Leo Blackwood. Northern Ridge Pack.” The name hit like a punch. Blackwood…neutral territory. Old bloodline. Known for staying out of pack wars. “Then you’ve picked a terrible time to get involved,” I said. “Because anyone standing in my way is a liability.” He sized me up with his eyes, as he smiled charmingly like he was going to undress me right in front of everybody.

I realize I called him Marcus Logan instead of just Marcus and the slip makes something click in my brain that I should have noticed earlier. "His last name is Blackwood" I say out loud. "Marcus Blackwood" Logan looks at me sharply and I can see him making the same connection I just made about the shared surname. "Blackwood is a common name in werewolf packs" Logan says but he doesn't sound convinced by his own words.
