She experienced too much pain when she first found out that she has a stalker. So she is really scared of what he would do next. Her fear manifested as her nightmares. Carter is shocked when he saw Riley begging someone to stop. He felt sad for her and he is equally angry with that man who is scaring her this much. He rushed to her bedside and cradled her in his lap.

"I miss Isaac. The cottage feels empty without him." "He is safer at the castle. You know that." "I know." Tori closed her eyes. "But I still worry." They sat in silence for a while, the fire crackling, the wind moaning. Tori thought of Hecate, standing in the courtyard, her hand extended toward the beast. She had looked so powerful. So untouchable. But Tori knew the truth. Hecate was afraid. She had always been afraid. She had just learned to hide it better than most.

But the Thornwells have connections, connections that get you into places you are not supposed to be, and someone must have slipped them an invitation or looked the other way when they walked past the velvet rope. I’ve never seen anything like it.” Tobias slumps back in his chair.
