The Unnaturals Novels & Stories

"This place has a weird atmosphere. Like someone died here before." Frank didn't answer immediately. He stood a few feet away, his back to me, hands in his pockets. "Not really," he said finally, his voice low. "But maybe someone will soon." I turned sharply. "What do you mean by that?" Before he could answer, I heard footsteps behind me. Heavy. Deliberate. I spun around. Three masked men emerged from the shadows of the unfinished building. Each wore dark clothing and a black ski mask that hid their faces. In their hands, they gripped wooden clubs—thick, brutal, the kind meant to break bones.

“Look closely and tell me…does the naked man in front of that poor guy in the middle look familiar to you?” “Just fucking kill me, Sinclair,” Will warned despite not really knowing what it was they were about to watch. “Do it!” Ignoring Will, Sinclair turned the volume on and Queen’s Crazy Little Thing Called Love from the TV speaker filled the air before they finally listened to the men on screen. “This can’t be…” Una’s voice trailed off as she listened and watched the things on the screen unfold. “Do you know why you’re here, Toby?” the naked man standing asked.

"The mountain has infinite energy, but your body does not. If I feel your pulse drop, I am shutting the line down." "I know the limits of my own anatomy, Killian," I said softly, leaning back into his warmth. "I just need you to be the ground wire. Don't let me float away." We stepped forward into the specialized clearing the UN forces had built. It was a wide pavilion bisected by the shimmering energy of our barrier. The humans stayed on their side. We stayed on ours. The Unbound flanked us, their hybridized, slate-grey bodies standing perfectly still. They did not need weapons. Their sheer physical presence and glowing violet eyes were enough to keep the military escorts rigidly in line.

Engines roared. “More hunters?” Marcus asked. “Worse. Lilith said. “Government. They’ve been watching, waiting. The gunfight gave them the excuse they needed. Through the window, Tamara saw black SUVs surrounding them. Soldiers in tactical gear poured out. Only these are not regular military. They wore strange symbols on their uniforms. Carried weapons that glowed with unnatural light. “Department of Supernatural Control,” Kai growled. “They're not supposed to exist.” “Lots of things aren't supposed to exist,” Lilith said. “Doesn’t stop them from showing up at the worst possible moment.”

After crawling for what felt like a humiliating eternity, Marcus stopped. He crouched down beside me and spoke in a low, calm voice close to my ear: "Listen carefully, Elena. This is your new owner now. If you don't behave perfectly in front of him, if you hesitate, if you cry too much, if you fail to please him then we might just leave you here. You'll go back to being that invisible, worthless girl no one wants. Forgotten and Unwanted. Do you understand?"

I'd like to hear what else they have to complain about their lives," I mocked sarcastically. But none of the Dentworths could tell that I was being sarcastic. As I gazed at Mathias, who went along with every word the Dentworths said, I no longer felt any trace of sadness for him. Ever since I had been reborn, I finally realized that this son of mine was absolutely useless. Sometimes, when I looked at him, I wondered if he really was my and Thomas' son. How on earth did he turn out to become like this? It turned out that some people were naturally rotten at heart. No matter how much one tried to educate and nurture them, they wouldn't be able to change the fact that the person was already rot

"And why should I trust you?" He smirked. "Watch." Noah turned to the man. "What’s your name?" "Gerry George." My brow twitched. Noah's right, the serum worked. "Who do you work for?" I asked. "We’ve never seen his face. Not even the head scientist has. He always wears a mask. We just call him Boss." I folded my arms, pacing around Gerry like a predator. "Those beasts that attacked the school... what are they?" "The Ultimate Weapon. Transformed rogue wolves. The early versions failed, but recently, we’ve been getting success."

She lost that fight before Haisley even shifted. Una’s probably going feral. Lone females lose their minds sooner or later. Something about having no men in their lives—no mate, no father, no uncles or brothers—unbalances them. They start talking to ghosts. Refuse to shave their legs and shit. As far as I know, she’s never gotten dick from any of the pack males— “Son of a bitch!” Gael shouts as he sails backward through the air, landing on his ass. The bag swings so high it nearly comes off the S-hook. Damn. I put a lot more power behind that one than I intended.

They will slaughter a man without a second thought. Yet, they are tender with their women and overly protective. That causes me to wonder why Bjorn is fighting the bond with Isla so hard. If he would just let go, she could slide her hands up those well sculpted muscles that I’m sure Bjorn and Magnus have. Just like the ones that I’m currently staring at. One of the things that I love about the bears is the fact that they are frequently shirtless. Gods, what I wouldn’t do to have that man over me.

“We’ll go slow. The scene itself won’t be extremely heavy, but it will be visible. I want you to feel what it’s like to surrender in public.” He stood up again. “Tomorrow night, you’ll wear the formal collar. Not the training one. And you’ll be naked for the scene.” Eden’s breath caught, but she nodded. “Yes, Sir.” Julian reached down and ran his thumb over her bottom lip. “Good girl.” The next evening, they arrived at Obsidian just after nine. Eden’s heart was pounding as they walked through the main lounge. She was wearing a long black coat over nothing but a pair of heels and the thick leather collar Julian had locked around her neck before they left the penthouse. Underneath the coat, sh
