I tried to ignore the piercing pain in my chest and said coldly. “I want to see the accurate analysis report and remediation plan tomorrow morning before the meeting.” My gaze swept across everyone in the meeting room, including those gossipmongers. “The meeting is adjourned.” I stood up and left the meeting room. Hushed whispers surged up again like a tide. This time, even more unbridled than it was before. “Why is he acting all high and mighty? He only got to the position of director because of Ms. Stewart.” “The old geezer just flew into a rage. Did his mid-life crisis come early?”

Tonight was the hunt, and she was both the predator and the storm. Nyxara Vale—the White Wolf, reborn, unstoppable, ravenous—had risen from the ashes. And she would make certain that every moment they had tried to bury her was unearthed, dragged into the light, and remembered for the reckoning it deserved.

In his letter, I explained all that I knew about the Phoenix spirit that dwells within me. While my father was the Sorcerer King, my mother was pure fae. When they came together and created me, I fulfilled some sort of prophecy that granted me not only the gift of time magic, but the ability to be reborn. The catch – the Phoenix spirit can only be activated after my twenty-fifth birthday. Fortunately, my uncle was unaware of this as well.

I don't know why I always come to her or what has been left because there was nothing between us to start with in the first place. We drove all the way to come to a bar where the women didn’t know the two idiots I call my band members. Their reputations are steadily growing. Mike is the one who plays bass and Ryan who is also Rebel's twin brother is the guitarist and instrument player while Rebel is the drummer and while I am the lead singer, Tyler is the rhythm guitarist. Mike and Ryan like to fuck over and needs women like they need air for breathing, nothing serious but just fucking and some nonsensical shit. Tyler is no other than both but yeah good looks can do charms and one more perk

I just stared at him, not knowing what to say. Derek simply stared right back at me. “We are going to Yuhan Mountain to meet Elder Alexander in two days. Be ready.”

As she climbed into bed, her phone buzzed with a text from Rylan: "Thank you for a wonderful evening. Sweet dreams, beautiful." Ravenna stared at the message, her finger hovering over the reply button. Finally, she typed out a response: "The pleasure was all mine. Goodnight, Rylan." As she set her phone aside, Ravenna closed her eyes, steeling herself for what was to come. The game was far from over, and she couldn't afford to let her guard down. Rylan may have killed her in her past life, may have betrayed her in the worst possible way, but in this life, she would be the one to come out on top.

So I look, I have no choice but to look. "Behold the crystal that you seek," her voice echoes through my head and I see it. I see the Xaél Crystal. It is beautiful, the crystal shines with colours the spectrum has forgotten and as I look deeper into her eyes, I see reflections on the crystal itself. Reflections of a life unrealized dance before my eyes. And in a span of time razor-thin, I am engulfed by memories of a world alien to me. A world in which supernatural creatures such as I do not exist; a world where humans rule. A world in which Clyde will reign supreme if he manages to crossover to it. For who would not fear the supernatural?

"Tell me something," Luna continued in a voice low and dangerous. "Does my sister pay you well for being her little spies? Or are you all just so desperate for scraps of attention that you'll debase yourselves for free?" Marissa's face flushed. "How dare you..." "How dare I?" Luna's laugh was a shard of glass. "No, sweetheart. How dare you!” She took a step forward and despite her weakened state, her dominance was a physical force, radiating from her like heat.

It was going to be a packed day, but she was excited about it. Her phone buzzed again, pulling her attention away from her notepad.it was from ryan *Ryan: I can’t help it. It’s the truth, and I only speak facts , good morning by the way hope you had a good night's rest , because I did , and even saw you in my dreams She rolled her eyes at this point she couldn't stop herself from blushing as her cheeks turned red. You’re ridiculous, she replied before tossing her phone onto the bed and heading to the bathroom.

Nobody deserved that type of treatment. “I’ll be fine. I’m not in the same position as before,” I said with much more confidence than I had recently felt. “If you can trust bringing them into your pack then I trust your judgement.” He was surprised by my answer. Honestly, I was as well. A phoenix died, turning into ash. Then from the ashes it would rise, anew. Perhaps it was time to find a way for the husk of Octavia – the current me – to find a way to change, to rise up from the ashes.
