The interview went smoothly and seamlessly. Jian was so impressed with Amelia’s performance that by the time they were done, he was very sure she’d be the one to be hired for the job. But knowing Amelia, she’d fight him and disagree with him if she found out he didn’t interview the other candidates. So he decided to go through his initial plans of running the interview for the other candidates that had shown up in the course of interviewing Amelia.
“I’m quite impressed with your show of intelligence, Amelia,” he stated, a smile of admiration etched on his face.
“Thank you,” Amelia responded, returning his smile.
She’d prepared so hard for this interview and realizing at the late hour that Jian was going to be her boss didn’t deter her or make her slack. She hadn’t even considered their friendship as a factor that could influence her performance or her chances of getting the job.
