“Ryan mentioned you needed some help settling in, so I’m here for you,” Sylvia stated, after settling into one of the leather chairs opposite Amelia’s seat.
“Yeah… about that,” Amelia’s smile fell a bit. “It feels a bit strange to be back here, you know after everything that happened and…”
Sylvia could see her physically struggling with herself and her choice of words, trying not to hint too much at the abrupt and sad end of her contract with Ryan. Deciding to make her feel comfortable and to avoid broaching the topic, she reached for her arm across the table, gently squeezing it.
