Amelia’s thoughts were disrupted when Ryan threw her into his bed, towering over her. She bounced a bit before stopping and rising to a sitting position.
“I promise I’ll never hurt you again, Amelia and I intend to keep that promise as best as I can,” his words caught her off guard but just when she was recovering, he sat beside her and reached for her palm, placing it flat on his chest.
Amelia’s heart leaped, her lips suddenly going dry from lack of words. She instinctively licked her lips and his eyes darted to them but he returned his gaze to her eyes. The sincerity in them was almost enough to melt her heart, making it beat wildly against her chest.
