Lorrie woke up to find herself in a hospital bed, an IV drip taped to her arm.
"You're awake!" Laura exclaimed, jumping to her feet.
Lorrie pressed her fingers to her temples, remembering how she'd fallen onto the inflatable cushion Devon had set up below the building.
He hadn't let her down.
"Thank goodness you trusted Devon. Chuck would've grabbed you if you'd hesitated even a second. Now there's talk he's teamed up with Jack and completely lost it. Who knows what he would've done if he'd dragged you back?"
