Aria’s POV
Knox had gone back to his room in the pack to prepare for his departure, and I prepared for mine also, as I gathered the little miserable belongings that I had in my room. As I packed, I felt no sadness or sense of loss. All I felt was excitement and anticipation. I couldn't wait to be free from this place.
Someone knocked on the door of my room, and I furrowed my eyebrows in thought. Who could it be?
It couldn't be Mama Felz. She never knocked. It couldn't be Knox. He wouldn't knock, because he knew he didn't need to.
I felt a sliver of fear as I wondered if it was Liam, who was back for revenge.
“Who is it?” I called, making sure I kept my voice steady.
“It's me.” A familiar voice replied—Claire.
I paused. What was Claire doing here? After all those things she said the last time, what else was she here for?
I reluctantly opened the door, and I stood in front of the door frame with a cold expression on my face. Claire had a somber expression on her face.
