**CONNOR**
She hasn’t called back since I had asked Roy to drive her and Lisa to the boutique. I thought with a slight frown, taking a break from my work and picking up my phone. I’d scrolled through my call logs before finally getting to Alannah’s number and I clicked on it.
Ring ring came the sound at the other end of the call before it finally connected.
“Hello” Alannah had said in her sleepy voice, sounding tired.
“Hello” I said. “It’s Connor.” I continued introducing myself like she had no idea I was the one on the call” “were you sleeping?” I asked. Of course she was, what kind of question was that and why did I even call her in the first place, I thought to myself.
“Yes, Mr. Connor, the shopping was exhausting and I just thought to take a nap” Alannah replied.
“Oh.” I said, did she just refer to me as Mr. Connor? Alannah had just called me by my name with an hint of respect, I initially thought she was being sarcastic, but there was no hint
