“How are you?” I asked as I slowly walked towards Carla’s bed, in an attempt to start a conversation.
“Not so fine, as you can see,” she replied shrugging and I just nodded, of course, I knew she wasn’t fine, and that was not the right way to start a conversation.
“Sit Nate,” she ordered and I found myself doing just that.
“You have anything to say to me?” She asked and I just bowed my head in shame, I had put my childhood friend in this position and I was very ashamed of my deeds.
“Except ‘I’m sorry?’,” I asked and she nodded ‘YES’.
“I don’t,” I said and her eyes seemed dull immediately as though she was waiting for me to actually say something to her.
“And I am also sorry for how I left things between us,” I added and her eyes lit up again.
