After teasing my bite mark, Jeff has a deep conversation about Rylee's health with me. He’s worried—says she’s extremely malnourished. Then suddenly, Kristen bursts in, looking panic, and tells us Rylee is missing.
I spring into action, calling for the nearby guards to start patrols and sweep the border. My pulse is racing. Usually, I’ve got everything under control, but with Rylee, my heart's all over the place.
The south side of the pack is a mess lately, crawling with some spies. I’m worried someone might’ve snatched her or, worse, that she’ll be mistaken for a spy and killed.
Blade is restless and howling in my mind.
I rush to the treatment room and only find Rylee’s scarf there. She’s gone. And There’s an open window. Rylee’s scent is still lingering. Looking down from the windon, I spot a trail of footprints leading to the eastern border.
