The spray of Alvar's breath on my bare skin sends a chill down my spine. I try to stay calm, my voice trembling as I explain, "No, I'm not. I just wanted him to leave. I wasn't trying to go back with him."
Alvar's fingers trace the side of my neck, making goosebumps rise. "I went through a lot of trouble 'inviting' him to my pack. And now you want to just let him go?" His voice drips with sarcasm. "What, are you afraid I'll hurt him?"
