My stomach growled despite the twist of anxiety.
Kaia gave me a soft smile. “The Alpha said you must eat. You haven’t since morning.” She said, ignoring my question and changing the subject. Perhaps it wasn't the time to ask her questions like this.
I blinked. It really was evening. I could tell from the fading glow against the tall windows.
“Thank you,” I said and reached out to take the plate.
