I think that I go into some kind of shock when the alpha says that he thinks he is my mate. From the stress of having to constantly be on vigil with Roy around, to being found out as a rogue and running for my life, to my wolf attacking the alpha, I just can’t handle it anymore.
My body just shuts down.
I don’t know how I respond or even if I do. I don’t know what the alpha says to me. What I do know is that he seems to understand because he doesn’t get upset. He wraps me up in his arms and pulls me into the bed with him.
I think…I think that I was shaking. I know that I was breathing really hard and that the alpha tucked me in tight against him. He rubs my back and cuddles me into him, whispering soothing words into my ear.
I don’t know how long it takes, but eventually I fall asleep cuddled in the arms of the only man that scares me more than my father.
