Alonso's POV
I am alone on the couch by the time I open my eyes. And I take a look through the huge glass wall to see that it's about time for the sun to rise. I haven't slept like this in a while. I skipped dinner because I wasn't even awake. I wonder when Venus woke up and where she could be.
I got up and pulled up just my pants. Venus and I fell asleep naked, I remember only that much.
I followed the lingering scent of honeysuckle and found my mate in the backyard. At the dock by the lake, she is sitting alone staring at the stars. Her feet dipped in the water, dangling from the dock.
Her Auburn hair is dancing to the wind and she looks peaceful. Something I don't see often. Peaceful Venus.
I sit beside her but she doesn't look at me. But I bet she might have noticed I was here due to the scent.
