Kane's POV:
I didn’t think I’d be able to fall asleep again, but I do. When I wake several hours after going back to bed, the sun is setting. Shit. I didn’t mean to sleep that long. Physically I feel better, but I’m in a hell of a bad mood, and the headache hasn’t eased at all. While hunting around for my pills, I mind link with Glenn for a status report “Hey. Do you have a moment?”
“Yep. What’s up?”
“Did you get any rest?”
“Some. You?”
“Just enough to make me extra cranky. Have you checked in with the Gammas?”
“Yeah. All is quiet.”
I frown. The fact that the witches aren’t attacking us is making me uneasy. “That’s strange, right?”
“Yeah. I’ve been thinking….Maybe they’re hiding themselves, you know? Like Moon Flower did. The witches can be right next to us and we won’t know it.”
The thought did cross my mind. “Yes.”
“Willow can sense them.”
“Yes.” I have a sinking feeling I know where this is going.
