Adeena's P.O.V
Why did I think Kalan's mother would be gone by morning?.
She was in fact, inside the kitchen at this current moment, by the stove doing who knows what. I walked in thinking it would be Isaac making breakfast but it wasn't.
My usual bacon and eggs was replaced with something else, something I wasn't used to and definitely something I wouldn't try.
I will tolerate her for as long as I need to, while trying my best not to slice her head off with a snap of my fingers.
"Hey" Kalan chimes behind me, wrapping his arms around me and kissing my cheek. "How do you feel?" he asks resting his chin on my shoulder.
