The color drained from her face. Her lips parted, a soft whimper escaping as the full weight of her mistake slammed into her. "N-No…" she whispered, stepping back. I stalked toward her, slow, deliberate, every step like a drumbeat of doom.
"You touched her," I said, my voice low and deathly calm. "You dared to touch what belongs to me."
