Ivory's POV
My eyes snapped open on the bed, the sunlight streaming brightly, through the curtains and flooding the room with a blinding brightness. I instinctively turned to my side, but Tristan wasn't there.
Then, yesterday's events crashed over me like a wave. A hot flush spread across my face, and embarrassment coursed through me. A weird feeling washed over me. When he had pulled me into his embrace, just to make me feel better, it wasn't just comfort, it felt peaceful. Something totally new. Something I'd never felt before.
Yesterday, James had tried to force himself on me. Luckily, a couple walking along that shore path showed up just in time. They saw what was happening and had rescued me from him. The wife even offered to walk me back to the suite. What if they hadn't shown up? I can't even picture what would have gone down. I don't want to. The thought sent shivers down my spine.
