Olivia watched as Sebastian and Desmond stared each other down furiously. Dinner was set to be a disaster. She should have known that Sebastian would also be invited, the Gilberts and the Colberts were old friends.
“This is my girlfriend, Caroline Sands.” Sebastian introduced his mistress turned girlfriend to Miranda Colbert. Everyone in the room was paying attention to them.
“Oh, she is a sweet looking young lady.” Miranda complimented. “And you already put a bun in the oven! Faster than the last, huh.”
Sebastian laughed. “She is the one for me. The real love of my life.”
“You are not going to rush into marriage again, are you?” Miranda teased, a jab at Olivia and their highly publicized divorce. “Lest you lose half of your company this time.”
Sebastian smiled a tight lipped smile. “Never.”
Desmond placed a palm on Olivia’s thigh. “Are you okay?” He asked. Olivia nodded. “I’m going to have a word with Miranda right after this dinner.”
